At the core of BlackRock’s global operations, the Technology & Operations team enables the firm to scale, innovate, and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Within Technology & Operations, the Outsourced Platform Services (OPS) function designs and deploys investment operations processes that power BlackRock’s outsourced service model and support clients operating on Aladdin.

As a member of OPS, you will work closely with clients and internal partners to shape how investment operations are designed, implemented, and scaled. The team translates business requirements into resilient operating models that support complex investment strategies while leveraging BlackRock’s technology ecosystem and operating expertise. YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT

BlackRock is seeking a Middle Office Implementation Director to join the Outsourced Platform Services team. This role is responsible for leading the implementation of middle office services for clients while ensuring alignment with BlackRock operational standards, controls, and service delivery expectations.

You will serve as a senior leader responsible for driving implementation strategy, managing stakeholder engagement, and delivering scalable operational solutions. Success in this role requires deep investment operations expertise, strong analytical capabilities, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to navigate complex challenges in a dynamic environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop deep subject matter expertise across middle office and investment operations functions and serve as a trusted advisor during client implementations.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of middle office operating models, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and operational resilience.

  • Partner with technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver operational solutions that strengthen controls, improve service delivery, and support business growth.

  • Analyze operational and client data to increase transparency, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Identify, assess, and communicate implementation and operational risks while promoting effective mitigation strategies and strong governance practices.

  • Act as a senior escalation point and decision-making authority for clients, implementation teams, and key internal stakeholders across the region.

  • Develop team capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, and leadership, enabling successful execution of complex implementations at scale.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Understanding of investment management with 6+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a demonstrated ability to evaluate complex situations and develop practical solutions.

  • Experience leading large-scale implementations, transformation initiatives, or operating model changes involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships across clients, business teams, and technology partners.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, with an interest in financial markets, investment operations, and emerging technologies.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$195,000.00 - USD$275,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance. For Princeton, NJ Only the salary range for this position is USD$180,000.00 - USD$245,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance. For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$170,000.00 - USD$225,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
