Microanalysis Intern - Summer 2026

The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a/an Microanalysis Intern to join our team for the Summer 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
What You’ll Do:
• Support routine analytical services for other teams and contribute to method development discussions.
• Perform analytical tests using advanced metrology tools such as:
o Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) (including a new high-resolution system)
• Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
• Confocal 3D Laser Microscope
• Microscope FTIR
• Develop and refine test methodologies for nanoparticle detection and characterization.
• Organize, analyze, and present data to senior scientists and engineers.
What We Seek:
• Open-minded and eager to learn new techniques.
• Strong ability to analyze and organize data effectively.
• Knowledge in analytical or organic chemistry.
• Collaborative, communicative, and detail-oriented.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0.
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Majors: Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science
• Graduation Year: Preferably 2026 or 2027 (students entering junior or senior year).
Eligibility

• Must be a currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May/June through August/September.
• Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in an internship program
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a cleanroom, work on the computer, and work on sample preparation.

Compensation: $25-$30/per hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
