Spectrums Data Services department manages data throughout the organization. Teams within this department work on a series of platforms spanning Spectrum to achieve various business goals.
BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
The Data Platforms Manager on THIS team supports the underlying data platform and services that enable reporting, analytics, and superior customer self-service experiences. Contributes to engineering and operational excellence by providing a highly available API platform at web scale. Works across the organization to establish development standards and execute data solutions that align with Charter's broader corporate strategy and ultimately drive a superior customer experience. Directly supervises the teams responsible for creating an information advantage for the organization with a focus on scalability, time to market, delivery, operations, and customer experience.
WHAT OUR DATA PLATFORMS MANAGERS ENJOY MOST
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Support Charter's customer self-service APIs and requisite infrastructures, and Content Management systems that power user experiences.
  • Contribute to a culture of data-driven operations by ensuring that all APIs are deeply instrumented and monitored.
  • Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency and availability of all systems and applications.
  • Work with other Charter teams from Product, to infrastructure and application development.
  • Recommend and monitor continual improvements within the data platform and services that allow Charter to decrease time to market for new customer experiences.
  • Assist in managing the adoption of systems/tools/processes where appropriate.
  • Support leadership in the continuing transformation of Charter into a data and analytics driven organization.
  • Directly supervise and support a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and developing individual contributors.
  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate project risks to key stakeholders.
  • Review and analyze data platform and services to ensure compliance with industry and government regulations, protecting our data assets with the highest levels of security

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of Telecommunications, Product and/or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years of Software engineering team management
    • 2+ years of Distributed computing software development
    • Experience developing distributed software operating in JVM and on Linux
    • Experience leading people and projects to a successful, high impact outcome
  • Education:
    • BA or BS College Degree or related work experience
  • Technical Skills:
    • Demonstrated understanding of reactive platforms like Akka, Node.JS, Play, etc.
    • Exposure to GraphQL based APIs
    • Demonstrated understanding of public cloud infrastructure services capabilities such as AWS
    • Demonstrated understanding of modern microservices architectures employed at web scale
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated effective communications skills including presentation skills
    • Demonstrated understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to operate customer facing production services at web scale, 24/7/365
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively
    • Ability to analyze and resolve issues, both logical and interpersonal
  • Travel Ability:
    • Office environment. Some travel required
  • Schedule:
    • Full Time
    • This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days)

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Management or leadership experience
  • 3+ years AWS cloud infrastructure management
  • Experience operating with critical production environments and communicating with various stakeholders

The base pay for this position generally is between
$98,900.00 and $175,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
