As a Test Engineer at Spectrum, you will be involved in planning, writing both manual and automated cases/scripts, and executing them. How You'll Make an Impact
- Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status
- Reduce defect noise through scenario analysis, ensure defects are well-written and have all required diagnostic information, and drive defects to resolution
- Ensure product quality meets documented requirements and/or enhances customer satisfaction
- Perform both back-end system and front-end UI triage and troubleshooting when identifying defects
- Determine manual test cases that are candidates for automation. Script test scenarios using the automation tool's UI test creator and basic scripting
- Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners
- Audit the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed
- Ensure alignment between business operational strategies and quality assurance of our products
- Diagnose complex issues, evaluate, recommend and execute the best resolution
- Develop, modify, enhance and implement test plans designed to support new or existing business initiatives. Identify improvement opportunities (process/tools/duplication) and work with cross-functional teams to bring in testing efficiencies
- Review existing test scenarios for accuracy, relevance and necessity

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience:
- 3+ years in system development and/or business experience with testing, coding and design.
- Technical skills:
- Experience with automation scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, Ruby or similar
- Proficient in test tools (HPQC, TestRail)
- Skills:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills, effectively identifying and tackling technical issues through creating test cases or writing defects
- Critical thinker with the ability to see beyond the obvious to help identify and troubleshoot defects in different scenarios
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines, deliverables, and shifting priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with key stakeholders
- Experience with automation scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, Ruby or similar and proficient in test tools (HPQC, TestRail)
- Ability to work with cross-functional team of internal and external resources
- Display professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion
- Understanding of database schemas and querying tools
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Creative solving of technical problems to ensure the ability to translate technical requirements into test plans
- Ability to track multiple test efforts simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results in fast paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Expert knowledge of AEM
- Proficient in BDD Cucumber framework
- Proficient in Python, PL/SQL and Java/Java script
- Demonstrates knowledge of agentic AI framework
- Proficient in CD/CI pipelines hookup
- Working knowledge of Amazon Q and copilot
