Strategic Marketing Consultant
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time position at MassMutual.
As a Strategic Marketing Consultant within our Workplace Solutions Marketing group, you will play a key role in leading participant-focused marketing efforts in support of MassMutual’s largest clients.
You will work in close collaboration with our Relationship Management team, Clients, Plan Advisors and internal Marketing resources to drive strategic planning and execution of marketing programs designed to improve the financial wellness of our clients’ employee populations. This includes, but is not limited to; increasing participation in companies’ retirement plans, encouraging employees to save more within their plan and helping employees become more educated about their finances.
You will rely on a solid understanding of marketing fundamentals and best practices to achieve results. You are comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere and have the flexibility to meet ever-changing client needs. You’re adept at influencing both internal and external parties to achieve the best outcomes
Responsibilities:
- Bring a consultative, strategic marketing perspective to projects to effect change vs. status quo
- Provide analysis and reporting for marketing efforts including interpretation of results and recommendations for new efforts
- Design test-and-learn agendas to develop best practices that can be more broadly applied
- Ensure that all campaigns are delivered effectively within deadlines and are aligned to clear business objectives
- Management of daily team capacity via work assignments
- Oversight and management of the team’s budget
- Book of Business: Provide strategic and consultative marketing / communications support to assigned large market clients. Responsible for developing campaigns from conceptualization through execution and evaluation.
- Regional Support: Provide direction and guidance to Relationship Managers and Sales Associates in the field regarding effective marketing resources and features. Participate in Relationship Management and Sales meetings and staff conference calls.
- Sales Presentations: Work with Sales Operations to present our capabilities and value to prospective and current clients and intermediaries. This includes presentation rehearsals, designing custom and standard communication materials and participant website demonstrations.
- Manage custom marketing projects; including creative briefs, copywriting, design / layout, and client / compliance approvals within budget guidelines
- Ability to travel approximately 20-25% - mainly in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic but may include other part of the US as well.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8+ years of B2C or B2B2C strategic marketing experience, including traditional and digital marketing
- Experience in the financial wellness/retirement industry required
- Experience managing large client relationships preferred
- Experience with Salesforce Cloud or IBM Watson preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in a partner or customer-facing scenario
- Ability to analyze and use data to optimize campaigns and drive results
- Proven effectiveness in a fast-paced, demanding, client-driven environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and to keep commitments to deadlines
- Solution-oriented self-starter who sees the big picture and can translate into smaller initiatives
- College degree required
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
