The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Marketing Specialist, Search will assist in multiple areas of marketing which may include: advertising, market research, direct marketing, product positioning, ecommerce marketing, data gathering, data analysis, and preparation of presentation materials, etc. May proofread, copy, and coordinate the production support of creative, proposals, graphics, and special projects. Furthermore, may be responsible for monthly billing reconciliation, meeting scheduling, and limited project management.

 

 

The Team

The Customer & Engagement Team at MassMutual is located in the innovation hub of Boston ? The Seaport District. Within the Customer & Engagement Team sits Search and Social, a digital first group responsible for brand and business unit channel marketing. We're a smallish team, so it's exciting and unusual that we have open positions. You'll use your skills to:
Help millions of Americans secure their financial futures and protect the ones they love. You'll help introduce the MassMutual brand to millions of people, and to further educate people about specific MassMutual financial products and services that will help them along their financial journey. You'll use digital channels, in particular organic and paid search, to ensure that we're reaching the right people with the right message. You'll use critical thinking, problem solving, and hyper attention to detail to craft marketing plans and deliver results.

 

 

The Impact

The Marketing Specialist, Search, will:

  • Schedule meetings and create/deliver follow-up notes on behalf of all Search Team members

  • Maintain SEM budget/submit invoices into Accounting

  • Maintain and manage search projects/schedules for the Search Team to meet internal client deadlines

  • Organize team documents/folders and communications using MS Teams, OneDrive, JIRA and Confluence

  • Maintain SEO and SEM Event Trackers

  • Maintain a Standard Work Library for the Search Team, documenting all work processes

  • Assist in the development of testing plans for SEO and SEM

  • Write/edit copy for search (SEM ads/landing pages and SEO metadata) and route to compliance/legal

  • Assist with keyword research

  • Monitor competitive activity on the search engine results pages (SERP)

  • SEM campaigns ? setup/QA/launch/monitor/set bids (including but not limited to keywords, URLs, copy, segmentation, budgets)???

  • Continuously review team processes to create workflow efficiencies, and make improvements for quality control

  • Provide SEO and SEM reporting support (incl. but not limited to monthly SEO/SEM performance, bot monitoring, site error reporting, and SEM campaign call reports)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience in a client setting and or/an agency; with SEO/SEM experience

  • Basic knowledge of how search advertising works, how digital media is purchased, and the differences between SEO and SEM

  • Basic knowledge of A/B split testing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is required,

  • Strong project management skills?

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Intermediate knowledge of digital analytics, including running reports using a digital analytics tool like Google Analytics, required

  • Basic knowledge of project management software like JIRA/Confluence and/or Microsoft Project required

  • Advanced MS Office proficiency, particularly in MS Excel

  • Basic knowledge of HTML

  • Good quantitative skills ? able to extrapolate information and apply to other areas

  • Able to participate in cross-functional projects, and across multiple lines of business

  • Self-motivated and flexible, able to manage multiple priorities at once with a great attitude

  • Ability to thrive amidst changing priorities

 

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with a CMS (Content Management System) a plus

  • Previous PR and/or digital content writing experience preferred
