Enterprise Marketing Manager
Drift is the new way businesses buy from businesses, and we’re looking for an Enterprise Marketer to join our team in Boston.
What’s an Enterprise marketer? Well, here’s the deal: our Enterprise sales team is on fire right now, and we’re doubling down and looking for a marketer to support them with lead generation and opportunity creation. Some companies might call it Field Marketing. Some might call it Account-Based Marketing. And we would say yes - it’s all of the above.
What you will be doing on the marketing team at Drift:
- You’ll report directly to the VP of Marketing and own Enterprise Marketing at Drift.
- You’ll will own lead generation and opportunity creation to support the Enterprise sales team, and you’ll be responsible for making this sales motion predictable and repeatable.
- This role reports into marketing but works day-to-day with the Enterprise sales team on everything from account plans, marketing strategy, and tools to intentionally support and drive the Enterprise business. Basically, this is the one role that should never be concerned about sales & marketing alignment -- this role can’t exist without it.
- You’ll work directly with the sales team to create their account plans -- which accounts are we targeting?
- You’ll be responsible for helping the sales team get into those accounts, so outreach needs to be your speciality -- whether it’s an email, a Vidyard video, a perfectly written email sequence, connections on social media, or even direct mail.
- You’ll own creating all of the content to support this team, from interviews on our blog and podcasts to press release and case studies highlight successful Drift customers.
- And you’ll also own all of the internal content too -- from helping the team with pitches, decks, and all of the sales enablement material they need to, well -- sell more.
- Events will also be a key part of your role. You’ll work with our Event Marketing Manager to hold invite only breakfasts, lunches, and dinners with top customers and key prospects. And you’ll own all of the industry events, from Dreamforce to Sirius Decisions. It’s your call whether we speak, sponsor, try and highjack -- or just send someone for the day.
- And inside of marketing you’ll serve as an advocate for the Enterprise business -- whether it’s a website change we should make, a new Drift playbook to target key accounts, case studies or proof points we need, webinars, co-marketing, and more.
About you and what type of skills you’ll need:
- You have previous experience with account-based marketing.
- You can give us two or three examples of successful campaigns you’ve run before to get into key accounts.
- You are creative. This one sounds obvious for a marketing team, but we really need you here. We don’t do anything traditional at Drift, and that will be true for Enterprise Marketing too. Maybe it’s an event. Maybe it’s direct mail. Maybe it’s a brand new webinar series. Maybe it’s a video testimonial we need. Maybe it’s a piece of content we need to create. Or maybe it’s hand delivering a Drift hoodie and umbrella to your potential champion in the pouring rain. Whatever it is, you’ll find a way to get it done.
- You know the tools and tech needed to make life easy. A great Enterprise strategy is nothing without the right data, tools, and technology. So we’re expecting you to have experience with tools like Datanyze, Clearbit, Engagio, Terminus, RollWorks -- and of course, a deep understanding of how the Drift ABM product works.
- You’re ready to sit right next to the sales team. Not literally sit right next to them (although it’s possible) -- but your mission is to support them and make it easy to create new opportunities. This means you won’t operate like a traditional marketer. You’re here to generate leads and opps for the Enterprise sales team.
- You want to own a number. You’ll be directly responsible for lead generation and pipeline creation for the Enterprise business at Drift. That can be scary -- or it could be exactly what you’re looking for.
