The world’s oceans convey 90% of global commerce. We’re applying practical A.I. to disrupt the massive marine and maritime transportation market. Our tech provides ships and workboats the intelligence to operate autonomously and remotely, which increases safety for maritime crews, and radically improves operator productivity. 
 
Job Summary: 
The Marine Test and Validation Lead will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of product testing, will conduct remote testing and oversee on-the-water testing of our innovative marine autonomy systems.  Our culture is dynamic, collaborative and biased towards execution. You’re passionate about evaluating and demonstrating new technology for the maritime industry. 
 
Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement and manage systematic product testing program of all advanced marine autonomous systems. 

  • Methodically validate system features and performance on a variety of marine vessels and simulators to provide detailed performance and quality data to technical teams. 

  • Lead root-cause analysis and verification methodologies in real-world conditions 

  • Establish safety procedures and operational best practices for marine testing 

  • Maintain thorough and well-structured documentation of test procedures and results ensuring traceability. 

  • Conduct on-the-water and remote demonstrations of marine autonomy system technologies to customers, investors and media. 

  • Provide operational support for safety and system certification testing. 

  • Support regulatory, customer, or partner validation efforts as needed 

  • Share knowledge of marine systems and vessel operations with technology teams for the development of new products and features. 

  • Build a culture of marine operational excellence within the operations department. 

Requirements and Skills 

  • 5+ years of product testing, validation, or systems test experience 

  • Complex hardware–software products 

  • Robotics, autonomy, marine, automotive, aerospace, or similar domains 

  • Experience using product testing and QA platforms such as: 

  • TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar test case management tools 

  • Jira, Linear, or equivalent for defect tracking and triage 

  • Ability to work with modern graphical user interfaces of common bridge systems and troubleshoot. 

  • Excellent analytical and program solving skills, excellent written and oral communication skills. 

  • Experience in professional maritime positions aboard commercial vessels is a plus.
