The Manager of User Experience is a senior leadership role within our growing Innovation & New Products group. This group is focused on ideating, testing, creating, and scaling new products and innovations to release exponentially more children from poverty. In this role you will lead a multi-disciplinary User Experience (UX) team to help bring new lovable products to market through agile and iterative methods. This includes driving design strategy through execution to deliver best-in-class experiences. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, operations, and partner teams to turn transform visionary ideas into shipping products that delight your neighbors. Your strong coaching and mentoring skills will help you develop individuals in your team, fostering a high-performance collaborative development environment.

 

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary UX team to design and launch new products with a high degree of ambiguity. 

  • Develop deep understanding of all your different customers/users, embedding those insights across the organization and into the product development process. 

  • Partner closely with product, engineering, and operations counterparts to ideate, prototype, and rapidly bring new concepts to life for evaluation and testing.

  • Work cross-functionally with teams to execute product launches.

  • Raise the bar on quality and craft.

  • Lead with vision and strategy through exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across disciplines and levels in the organization.

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic and/or tactical issues that impair the teams’ ability to meet goals.

  • Make sense of ambiguity, define and plan projects with speed, and secure buy in from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead a team of UX Designers and Researchers to create and deliver world-class experiences to market. Champion and promote best practices for design and research. 

  • Provide vision, high level direction and oversight to your team to set and enable the ministry's strategic objectives and goals.

  • Hire exceptional talent, coach and developing your team, and leveraging your expertise to continually raise the bar.

  • Manage and develop a world-class team by being serious about personal growth, including coaching, mentoring, and managing performance.

  • Builds a world-class environment of inclusion and engagement that encourages appropriate training and development opportunities for team members.

What do you bring?

  • 10+ years of proven experience leading teams at scale and solving enterprise wide problems .

  • Proven experience design and shipping consumer tech products.

  • Strong experience with international experiences and products.

  • Experience leading as or working closely with product managers and design/research.
