We are looking for an experienced Manager, Supply Chain and Materials Management to lead warehouse operations, as well as all activities related to planning, storing, and distributing materials needed for production. This role will own all processes and systems used to manage the flow and storage of goods, ensuring the right products are available at the right time and place, while minimizing costs and preventing issues like stockouts or overstocking. The goal for this position is to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, support production and procurement, and drive improvements in efficiency, safety, and cost control across the supply chain.
You’ll report to our Senior Purchasing Manager and work from our Santa Ana, CA office. Travel to additional company locations is required up to 10% of the time.
What You’ll Do:
Warehouse & Materials Management
Lead all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and storage systems to enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Manage the end-to-end flow of materials, from receiving to point-of-use or shipment, implementing initiatives to reduce costs and waste.
Develop and oversee robust inventory control procedures, including cycle counting, and discrepancy reconciliation.
Lead efforts to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence through accurate data and forecasting support.
Leadership
Manage, train, and develop the warehouse team, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse and inventory functions.
Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Finance to align on material needs, inventory levels, and cost controls.
Identify and implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to boost supply chain performance.
Manage the departmental budget, focusing on expense control and cost-saving opportunities.
Prepare and present performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Lead by example and be a champion of all company policies, including safety, attendance & security.
Who You Are:
Required
Minimum of 7 years in supply chain/materials management, with at least 3 years in a management role overseeing warehouse and inventory.
Demonstrated knowledge of modern warehousing, inventory control, and materials management principles.
Strong team management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Netsuite), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience implementing a new WMS or major ERP module is necessary.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and/or ISO/AS/TS standards.
Excellent communication and ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
Preferred
Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain Management).
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
Experience in the manufacturing industry.
Physical Requirements:
Bending and Twisting: Bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, and squatting.
Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time.
Exposure to Machinery: Exposure to machinery noise, which may include noise from forklifts, injection presses, or other machinery.
Hand Use: Power gripping when using low-precision, high-impact hand tools that require significant force, such as hammer drills and torque wrenches.
Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 75 pounds.
Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Temperature and Humidity: Occasional exposure to warehouse environments without heating or cooling with fluctuations in temperatures and humidity.
Walking: Ability to walk for long periods.
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
