In this role, the manager will oversee both processes and people to complete both regular ongoing tasks as well as long-term projects to maintain and enhance the systems (both homegrown and vendor supported) that support our Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Leveraging expertise in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks, project management skills, and relationship management, the manager will partner with business owners and IT partners to understand business needs, communicate those needs into IT tasks and projects, and oversee the successful deployment of functionality.

  • Systems Projects: Manage medium- to long-term projects supporting our AR systems throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), advancing progress towards longer-term goals across both operational and IT teams. Typical components of these projects can include, but are not limited to, drafting business requirements, validating data flows, Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and develop colleagues supporting Revenue Cycle systems improvement work, including work direction, cross-training, performance/review support, and maintaining accountability across assigned responsibilities.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Strong knowledge of systems support and application management, with the ability to oversee ongoing maintenance, issue resolution, and process improvements across business-critical systems
  • Working knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and post-deployment support
  • Project management skills with the ability to lead medium- to long-term initiatives, manage priorities, track progress, and drive work across cross-functional teams
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and root cause analysis, with the ability to assess data flows, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions
  • Relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with business owners, IT teams, vendors, and other key partners
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and communicate business needs clearly to technical teams
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing team members, including setting expectations, providing feedback, and supporting long-term growth
  • Ability to balance day-to-day operational support with longer-term strategic projects in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at various organizational levels across Revenue Cycle, Operations, Finance, IT, and vendor/partner teams where applicable
  • Understanding of Accounts Receivable, Revenue Cycle, or other healthcare operations is preferred
  • Experience supporting both internally developed and vendor-supported systems is preferred

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, which can include coaching, developing, project managing, etc.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
