    • Design and execute engaging bi-annual in-person team offsites.
    • Develop team activities that strengthen cross-functional relationships.
    • Coordinate professional development events including trainings, speakers, and lunch-and-learns.
  • Manage People Operations and employee lifecycle processes.
    • Administer and optimize benefits programs, oversee compensation structures, and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
    • Keep up with labor laws and regulations, updating policies as needed to maintain compliance.
    • Develop and communicate HR policies that align with company culture and best practices.
  • Work with managers to create learning opportunities that help team members grow their skills and advance their careers within the company.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as an HR generalist with a focus on recruiting and employee engagement, preferably at a remote startup or small company.
  • Proven experience with HRIS and HR technology platforms.
  • Proven track record of working well with different teams to create hiring plans and job descriptions. Strong skills in evaluating candidates through effective screening, creating focused candidate shortlists, and conducting structured interviews to find the best people for each role.

  • Has experience organizing company events that bring teams together and improve workplace culture. Can handle all event planning details and gather feedback from employees to see what worked well.
  • Comprehensive understanding of human resources best practices, federal and state employment regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong sense of accountability, self-motivated with excellent time management skills; proactive in developing and implementing new processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Benefits
  • 100% remote
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
