The Opportunity - Manager, Payment Operations (Remote – USA / CANADA)

Wrapbook is launching a new Vendor Payments capability that enables entertainment production companies to pay their vendors directly through our platform using Stripe.

We’re looking for a Manager of Payment Operations - a hands-on operator and people leader who can both build and run the program, with support from the Senior Director of Operations and the General Manager, Vendor Payments Solutions. You’ll directly manage one Vendor Payments Operations Specialist, partner closely with Wrapbook’s Product and Client Ops teams and with Stripe, and deliver a white-glove customer experience while designing the processes and procedures that will power future scale.

You’ll work directly with our customers and their vendors, lead onboarding calls, troubleshoot payment and verification issues, and develop the workflows and documentation that enable a successful go-to-market launch. As the product matures, you’ll help extend these workflows to further support vendor verification and onboarding.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the operational owner for all Stripe Connect and Treasury workflows (onboarding, payments, verification, bank linking).

  • Engage directly with production company customers — answering questions, resolving onboarding blockers, and ensuring a white-glove experience.

  • Troubleshoot live issues with Stripe and Wrapbook systems (e.g., failed payments, KYC/KYB verification errors).

  • Partner with the internal specialist to document every step of the user journey, from onboarding through payout.

  • Create SOPs, FAQs, enablement materials, and external-facing help center content.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine the customer and backend workflows based on real-world feedback.

  • Track and report operational metrics: onboarding completion, payment success rates, and error trends.

  • Act as the primary liaison with Stripe for escalations and investigations.

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to scale and automate manual processes as volume grows.

  • Partner cross-functionally to evolve workflows for future vendor onboarding and verification use cases.

What you’ll have:

  • 5–8+ years in Payments Operations, Fintech, or Platform Operations — ideally with experience in third-party payment providers, payment facilitators, payment service providers, or payment gateways - bonus points for Stripe Connect or Stripe Financial Accounts for platforms (formerly Stripe Treasury) experience.

  • Direct experience leading teams or mentoring junior operations team members.

  • Deep understanding of KYB, ACH fund flows, and account verification processes.

  • Be a hands-on operator - comfortable taking calls, troubleshooting live issues, and working across systems.

  • Structured thinker with strong analytical and documentation skills.

  • Strong ownership mindset with a bias for action; thrives in ambiguity.

  • Bonus: Experience in media, production, or payroll/payments environments.

What does success look like?

  • Every onboarding customer feels supported and informed throughout setup.

  • Stripe issues are tracked, escalated, and resolved quickly with lessons documented.

  • Playbooks and processes are built for scale, ready for broader team enablement.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
