Responsible for driving initiatives and support processes impacting multiple Fresh Departments. This includes (1) designing & facilitating an organized and collaborative Spot Buy process, (2) driving data-rich discovery efforts in support of Fresh Sourcing Events, (3) leading functional training preparation and delivery, & (4) leading/supporting Fresh assortment and spec harmonization efforts.
***Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC, Quincy, MA, Carlisle, PA, Scarborough, ME, Hyattsville, MD.
Essential job functions:
  • Independently perform the following responsibilities while making decisions & demonstrating extensive planning & forethought. Influence/train others on responsibilities when needed.
  • Design, develop & execute robust ways of working among Fresh Category, Suppliers, and Fresh Sourcing to facilitate Spot Buys across all ADUSA brands and leverage size and scale to optimize costs
  • Drive data-rich discovery to develop a playbook in support of planned Sourcing events. Data sources include (but not limited to) IRI, Range Me, category trends, brand strategy, payment terms, sustainable packaging opportunity, etc. The information should optimally inform the sourcing event and allow the Sourcing teams to accelerate event timing and duration while optimizing outcomes.
  • Identify training needs on Fresh Sourcing related topics. Design, prepare & deliver functional training both within Fresh Sourcing and on Fresh Sourcing topics for other areas such as Category.
  • Lead Fresh assortment and spec harmonization efforts with Fresh Category Managers, including making informed recommendations of optimal specs/assortment to align with brand strategy.

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis until the end of their appointment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of related Sourcing, Negotiating, Category, & vendor management experience (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of the industry, supplier landscape, syndicated data sources (e.g., IRI), and commodity markets, with the ability to interpret trends and translate insights into business decisions.
  • Proven sourcing and negotiation expertise, with a track record of driving value, managing supplier relationships, and achieving business objectives.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, and change management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive successful outcomes.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling narratives, influence stakeholders, and effectively deliver complex information.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conflict management skills, with the ability to assess risks, navigate challenges, and make sound business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong financial acumen, including P&L management, with demonstrated success educating and influencing others on financial, sourcing, and market-related topics.
ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $108,880 - $163,320
IL/MA/MD/NY Salary Range: $125,200 - $187,800
Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
