As part of Manulife’s strategy to strengthen and integrate its global WAM platform, the Financial Analysis & Advisory team provides strategic financial guidance to support business objectives and drive informed decision-making. The team leads performance management, financial planning and forecasting, profitability analysis, competitive benchmarking, and other analytical insights that help optimize business outcomes and support long-term growth.
Reporting to the Head, FP&A & Expenses – Public Markets & CQS, the Manager, FP&A-Public Markets & CQS will be accountable for developing and producing high quality and insightful management & financial reporting, coordination & support of financial forecasting & planning requirements, liaison with business & functional stakeholders and ad hoc analyses.
Position Responsibilities:
Preparation and coordination of management reporting deliverables for the Public Markets’ & CQS senior management team and other key stakeholders.
Forecasting, analysis and support for Public Markets and CQS earnings (Revenues & Expenses) by region and asset class
Analysis of KPIs and other analytics for all Public Market desks and CQS asset classes.
Commentary on key performance metrics, variances, special projects and other significant events/transactions.
Coordination and analysis for the annual Public Markets and CQS business plans, including development of assets, revenue & expense budgets, product and model assumptions, and sensitivity testing.
Documenting engagement models and operating procedures among internal functional and business teams.
Develop solutions to automate existing manual processes and support transformation initiatives within Global WAM
Required Qualifications:
University Business Degree and CPA, CA or MBA (specialization in accounting or Finance) designation.
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial services and/or consulting firm with experience in the public investment management industry reporting would be an asset
Strong attention to detail and aptitude for learning.
Motivated to work under tight monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines while managing multiple projects and deliverables.
Ability to effectively liaise with different business units and supporting functions.
Well organized and with high level of energy and initiative to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Good presentation and business writing skills required to interact with senior management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
Advanced level of proficiency in financial reporting tools (Anaplan, Smartview (1STOP/1EXP/1KFM), Infor) and MS office tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint to develop reports, documents and presentations); knowledge of cost centres a strong plus
