Summary

The Finance Technology and Analytics Manager is a deeply embedded business partner bridging the gap between data and insightful, actionable intelligence.  They serve as the primary owner of the Finance team's data infrastructure, reporting ecosystem, and analytical toolset, and they actively drive the adoption of AI and emerging technology to keep the organization ahead of the curve. By staying close to functional leaders in the business, this individual is able to design solutions that reflect real operational context, not just financial outputs.  The ideal candidate combines strong financial and business acumen with hands-on technical depth and brings a customer-service mindset to every engagement.

Essential Functions

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that support KPIs, financial planning & analysis, and executive decision-making.
  • Develop and govern shared semantic models (datasets), ensuring consistent KPI definitions and single sources of truth.
  • Serve as a trusted intelligence partner to the business.  Intake and prioritize new information requests from key functional leaders to support broader business intelligence needs.
  • Translate complex business questions into well-structured analytical problems; work cross-functionally to gather requirements and deliver reporting and analytics solutions that are actionable and appropriately sized and resourced for the problem at hand.
  • Establish best practices for report design, security/RLS, and release management.
  • Train and support Finance team members in self-service BI consumption and light report development.

Financial Modeling & Analytical Tools

  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models in Excel, leveraging Power Query for robust, scalable data preparation.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Evaluate and implement new modeling tools or capabilities as business needs evolve.

Technology Support & Enablement

  • Serve as the primary technology resource for the Finance team — troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and reducing friction with systems and tools.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure data availability and reliability that meet key business needs in a timely manner.
  • Develop training materials and deliver enablement sessions to improve team-wide data literacy and tool proficiency.
  • Act as an advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization, helping non-finance leaders understand and confidently use the analytics tools and reports available to them.
  • Own the Finance technology roadmap, tracking current system capabilities, identifying gaps, and making recommendations for enhancements, replacements, and efficiency gains.

AI Integration & Innovation

  • Lead the Finance function's AI adoption strategy — identifying, prioritizing, and piloting high-impact AI use cases.
  • Partner with IT and other stakeholders to implement and scale AI solutions in a governed, responsible manner.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, keeping the Finance team informed of emerging AI capabilities relevant to the function.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance, FP&A, or finance technology role with significant hands-on involvement in data and analytics.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report/dashboard development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Query for financial modeling and data transformation.
  • Working proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation (pandas, numpy, and similar libraries).
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and SQL querying.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools or LLM-based applications in a business context.
  • Microsoft Power Platform experience (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Proficient in financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Depth & Continuous Learning — Stays current with a fast-moving toolset and brings new capabilities to the team.
  • Business Partnership — Builds trust with Finance and Business stakeholders by understanding their workflows and delivering practical, reliable solutions.
  • Data Stewardship — Treats data as a critical asset; prioritizes accuracy, consistency, and governance.
  • Problem Solving — Diagnoses complex, ambiguous data and systems issues and drives them to resolution.
  • Influence & Communication — Shapes technology decisions and drives adoption without direct authority over all stakeholders.
  • Innovation Mindset — Proactively identifies opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency and decision quality.
  • Business Acumen & Service — Strong business acumen paired with a customer-service mindset.
  • Adaptability — Comfortable with change and quick to adjust as priorities shift.
  • Flexibility — Understanding that not everything requires a robust tech solution and when it is best to employ a quick fix or non-technical alternative.
  • Organization & Execution — Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in an office environment.
  • Ability to sit for an extended period and operate standard office equipment.
  • Must pass work eligibility requirements.
