Manager, DTC
Overview
At SharkNinja, we're building a best-in-class DTC business that puts the consumer at the center and moves at speed. We're looking for a commercially driven Manager, DTC Merchandising to own and grow a category like a business.
This role is accountable for assortment strategy, revenue growth, margin performance, and inventory health across the full commercial lifecycle-from line planning and forecasting through to promotional strategy and digital merchandising.
You will operate as an end-to-end owner, akin to a General Manager, using data, customer insight, and strong commercial instinct to make decisions, move quickly, and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
Own Category Performance
  • Own and deliver revenue, margin, and inventory targets for your category within the DTC channel
  • Identify risks and opportunities early and take decisive action to course-correct
  • Lead weekly business reviews focused on actions and decisions, not reporting

Assortment Strategy & Line Planning
  • Define and evolve a role-based assortment strategy (traffic drivers, margin drivers, innovation, exit)
  • Evaluate SKU productivity and make clear recommendations on what to scale, fix, or remove
  • Partner cross-functionally (Product, Supply Chain, Marketing) to shape line plans grounded in consumer demand and commercial opportunity

Forecasting & Inventory Ownership
  • Own demand forecasts informed by performance trends, market signals, and commercial judgment
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Planning to optimize inventory flow, availability, and risk mitigation
  • Balance growth with inventory health, managing weeks of supply, turns, and stock risk

Promotional & Pricing Strategy
  • Develop and execute promotional and pricing strategies aligned to revenue and margin goals
  • Evaluate promotional effectiveness, understanding revenue vs. margin trade-offs
  • Lead a test-and-learn approach to continuously improve promotional ROI

Digital & Site Merchandising
  • Own the end-to-end on-site merchandising strategy to drive conversion, AOV, and revenue
  • Prioritize product visibility and placement based on performance, inventory position, and commercial priorities
  • Optimize category navigation, product storytelling, and bundling to enhance the digital shelf experience

Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Translate data into clear actions and commercial decisions
  • Leverage insights across sales, conversion, traffic, and customer behavior to inform strategy
  • Build and communicate a strong point of view on performance and what needs to happen next

What Good Looks Like
  • Operates as an owner of a business, not just a function
  • Makes fast, clear decisions with imperfect information
  • Balances data, customer insight, and commercial instinct
  • Comfortable making trade-offs across revenue, margin, and inventory
  • Proactively identifies issues and acts with urgency
  • Communicates with clarity and conviction, focused on actions and outcomes

Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of experience in merchandising, DTC/eCommerce, buying, or category management
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including margin, forecasting, and inventory management
  • Experience owning or influencing assortment, pricing, and promotional strategy
  • Highly analytical with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience in eCommerce or omnichannel retail environments

Preferred Experience
  • Direct experience with DTC site merchandising and digital shelf optimization
  • Background in consumer products or hard goods
  • Experience operating in a test-and-learn or experimentation-driven environment

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
