The RTX Corporate & Equity Accounting and Reporting team is seeking a dynamic and driven accounting professional to join the Corporate Accounting organization. The individual will oversee key Corporate ledger activities and support areas involving technical accounting, with a particular focus on equity and stock‑based compensation.


This position offers an exceptional opportunity to lead meaningful process improvements, strengthen controls, and shape new standard process documentation as part of the ongoing ERP transformation. The person will address challenging, high‑visibility accounting topics and contribute to how RTX evolves its financial processes for the future. As a key team member, the individual will collaborate closely with a broad network of Corporate functions—including Executive Compensation, Treasury, Benefits Finance, Risk Management, Financial Reporting & Consolidations, and FP&A.

 

What You Will Do:


  • Manage day‑to‑day Corporate ledger activity and oversee technical accounting matters in accordance with RTX Policy and US GAAP. Primary areas of ownership include incentive compensation, stock‑based compensation, equity, captive insurance accounting, risk management accounting, and other specialized Corporate accounting topics
  • Lead analytical reviews of Corporate balance sheet and P&L accounts, and prepare or contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables related to equity (such as the Statement of Changes in Equity and other equity-related disclosures)
  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities within assigned accounting areas and develop well‑supported recommendations for resolution
  • Collaborate with key Corporate functions and RTX business units to ensure significant, unusual, or complex transactions are recorded accurately and that estimates are updated in accordance with policy.
  • Support enterprise‑wide initiatives, including ERP implementation activities and enhancements to account reconciliation processes
  • Lead Corporate accounting process improvement initiatives using the CORE framework and related tools, including identifying and implementing AI‑enabled process efficiencies to streamline and shorten the close cycle
  • Develop and maintain clear standard operating procedures and process documentation for assigned accounting areas, especially in support of ERP‑related changes
  • Support the preparation of accounting memos and documentation for complex or unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and RTX policy
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects driven by Corporate leadership or cross‑functional teams
  • Partner with external auditors on quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit, providing clear and well‑supported documentation and analysis

Qualifications You Must Have:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in technical accounting, including researching and applying US GAAP
  • Experience working with quarterly business results, balance sheet and P&L statements as well as providing support and periodic reviews with senior management
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and concisely with all levels of management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Willingness to support a flexible schedule during peak quarter-end and year-end close periods, which may include meetings outside local business hours or occasional weekend/holiday support
  • Ability to travel periodically to the RTX Corporate Office in Farmington, CT to support in‑person team meetings, collaboration sessions, and departmental events, as needed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications We Prefer:


  • CPA certification, or progress toward achieving CPA
  • Public accounting experience, with exposure to audit, complex technical accounting, and equity-related areas
  • At least three years of experience with SAP, OneStream, and Blackline systems, including experience in ERP or financial system implementations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience developing or enhancing standard process documentation, internal controls, or reconciliation processes, including recognizing process gaps or shortfalls and implementing effective improvements and positive change
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams on complex or unusual transactions
  • RTX segment accounting experience or aerospace and defense industry experience

Location/Type: Remote; preferred location is within the Northeast region with proximity to the RTX Corporate Farmington, CT office (CT, MA, RI, NY). However, candidates in other areas of the U.S. will be considered!


Remote: This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
