Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring a Manager, Category Management for our Merchandising team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and will focus on accelerating growth in Private Brands. To drive growth, this person will drive new product launches on site, develop Chewy's offering to better support customers and work across categories to create relevant merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication, strong negotiations and ecommerce experience, the ability to execute and communicate customer lead strategies, and work well across other teams including Product development, Finance, Inventory Management, and Site Experience. This candidate would have the ability to lead other team members through coaching, development and clear prioritization. Keys to success also include strong ownership values, a passion for innovation, and hustle. The location can be based out of Plantation, FL, Boston, MA, Bellevue, WA, or Minneapolis, MN.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage a high growth business across several categories of Private Brands.
  • Help launch new customer-led products and innovation with urgency.
  • Develop and execute sounds strategies across marketing, product and supply chain to support this growth while managing inventory/financial risk for Chewy.
  • Own the P&L and drive toward sales and profit targets on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple timelines, collaborate productively across cross-functional teams with a focus on long term growth and scale.
  • Interject new insights and ideas for improving customer experience and improving financial outcomes while holding true to Chewy Private Brand fundamentals.
  • Strong, proven leadership skills that focus on clear prioritization, ability to coach and develop others.

What You'll Need:
  • Minimum of 8+ years in category management, account management, product management, financial analysis and/or marketing in a retail organization
  • Minimum of 8+ years negotiation experience
  • Manager experience of a small team
  • Strong in Excel; SQL a bonus. BA/BS (MBA preferred)
  • An accomplished range of skill from high-level strategic thinking to working with external partners.
  • Demonstrated excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Chewy's cross-matrix organization is critical to success in this role.

The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
