Position Summary:
Shape the insights that help Product & Operations leaders make clear, informed decisions. This hybrid role in Belfast or Boston focuses on turning complex data into practical recommendations across planning, portfolio performance, headcount, and financial reporting. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders to support governance, executive reporting, and ad hoc analysis. This role reports to the Technical Project Management Director.

About the Team:
The Product Operations team helps connect strategy to execution across athenahealth’s product organization. The Analytics & Insights function supports leaders by translating data from multiple sources into reporting, frameworks, and narratives that inform planning and performance management. The team partners with Product, Finance, Operations, and HR stakeholders and uses tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, BI platforms, and Snowflake to support analysis and reporting. The team values clear communication, sound judgment, and practical problem solving.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Support annual planning cycles by translating corporate priorities into measurable frameworks and reporting structures.

  • Partner with program and business leaders to track major initiatives, surface risks, and recommend adjustments based on data.

  • Analyze headcount, financial, operational, and portfolio data to support executive decision-making.

  • Develop clear narratives and recommendations for leadership and board-level audiences.

  • Maintain tracking frameworks for portfolio health, resource allocation, and performance trends.

  • Build repeatable reporting processes that provide consistency while allowing for timely updates and ad hoc analysis.

  • Respond to analytical requests ranging from quick data pulls to in-depth, multi-week analyses.

  • Prepare board and executive reporting materials, including analysis of AI automation performance, customer work reduction, and R&D productivity.

  • Use AI-enabled tools to speed up analysis, draft first-pass summaries, and test alternative ways to organize work while applying judgment to validate results and decide what is ready to share.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to clarify questions before analysis begins.

  • Support improvements to reporting, analysis methods, and recurring deliverables.

  • Share insights, methods, and best practices with the broader Product Operations team.

  • Help strengthen analytical rigor and consistency across recurring work.

  • Contribute to a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy, operations, or a related field.

  • Experience supporting a product, operations, or finance organization preferred.

  • Experience with annual planning, initiative tracking, executive reporting, or board-level materials preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data across multiple domains into clear, actionable insights.

  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, Excel, and BI tools such as Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI.

  • Snowflake experience preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

  • Ability to work through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables from start to finish.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience preferred.

$133,000 - $227,000


Expected Compensation

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
