The Manager of Analytics Business Partners leads the group that serves as the voice of the business inside Data & Analytics’ operating model. Each Analytics Business Partner (ABP) is the Business Lead of a domain-focused, cross-functional delivery pod. ABPs owns the pod’s backlog, acceptance criteria, and stakeholder outcomes. This role manages analytics intake, routes work to the appropriate pod, coordinates cross-pod initiatives, and tracks demand, capacity, and results for D&A leadership.
The role is accountable for making analytics delivery predictable and valuable. It owns enterprise analytics intake and prioritization, ensures pod backlogs are prioritized using a common business-value model, and evaluates released capabilities based on the outcomes they produce. The role does not own product roadmaps, pricing, or P&L accountability (Product Management); technical design (pod Technical Leads and Enterprise Data Platform); or analytical method (Enterprise Analytics and Data Science).
Responsibilities:
- Hire, develop, and coach a team of Analytics Business Partners who lead the business side of D&A delivery pods, building their skills in backlog ownership, prioritization, and stakeholder management.
- Assign ABPs to pods and business domains, arrange backup coverage, and step in to lead a pod’s business priorities when needed.
- Define and own the enterprise intake process for data and analytics requests, making sure every request is reviewed, receives a clear decision, and reaches the right team.
- Maintain a consistent approach to prioritization across pods so that work is ranked on business value and stakeholders know where their requests stand.
- Coordinate work that spans multiple pods or depends on shared platform teams, resolving sequencing conflicts and bringing trade-offs to business sponsors when scope or timing needs to change.
- Lead quarterly planning with pod leads and D&A leadership, and report on demand, capacity, and delivery performance.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with business leaders across product, strategy, finance, sales, account management, clinical, and internal functions to understand their goals and shape analytics needs early.
- Assess how delivered solutions are used and whether they produce the expected business value, and share the results with stakeholders and D&A leadership.
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, data science, data governance, and product management teams to keep roles and ownership clear.
- Promote self-service and data literacy (in partnership with the Data Literacy Manager), steering recurring requests toward reusable data assets.
- Continuously improve how the ABP team and the pods work together, using stakeholder feedback and delivery results.
Qualifications: Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare, health technology, or data and analytics environments.
- 5+ years translating business needs into data and analytics solutions (for example as a product owner, analytics business partner, analytics product manager, or program lead).
- 3+ years of people management, or progressive leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience with agile delivery, including backlog management, sprint and quarterly planning, and capacity-based commitments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAFe POPM, SAFe RTE, CSPO, or equivalent certification.
- Experience running enterprise intake, portfolio prioritization and dependency management across multiple teams.
- Working fluency in data platforms, data governance, BI, and data science. Enough to partner credibly with engineers and analysts; SQL proficiency is a plus.
- Experience configuring Jira forms, boards, and dashboards.
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy (HIPAA, PHI/PII) and data-rights considerations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, including executive storytelling and the ability to decline or defer work constructively.
- High comfort with ambiguity and with leading teams through organizational change.
