About the team and position
The ADESA Special Ops (ASO) team is looking for an experienced, strategic Manager to lead a team of functional experts focused on supporting and executing key, strategic ADESA initiatives within our auction locations across the country. This team plays a pivotal role in driving operational success by supporting auction leadership and strengthening the connection between field and corporate teams. As the Manager of ASO, you will lead efforts to ensure effective implementation of major initiatives, identify and mitigate site-specific challenges, and deploy training to enable smooth adoption and sustainable operational excellence.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to establish standardized processes for executing auction-based initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment that empowers auction leaders and encourages site-level adoption.
This position will be based remotely and will require travel at least 80% of the time.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and manage a team of functional experts who provide on-the-ground support for strategic initiatives at auction sites, fostering high engagement and continuous development
- Lead the execution of major operational changes across auction sites, working hand-in-hand with General Managers to implement initiatives in alignment with ADESA’s strategic goals. Serve as a hands-on resource and advocate for auction leadership
- Anticipate unique challenges at each auction location and deploy customized solutions that enable effective and efficient implementation of key initiatives. Proactively remove barriers to success for field teams
- Ensure comprehensive training and support for field teams on new processes and systems, promoting a culture of understanding, adoption, and collaboration
- Strengthen the relationship between field teams and corporate functions by facilitating open communication, sharing insights, and aligning goals. Provide feedback to corporate on site-specific challenges and successes
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and resources are available for the successful execution of initiatives at each site
- Create a supportive environment for auction teams during times of change

What you should have
- Minimum of 7 years in a leadership role, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing high-impact projects, preferably in field operations or change management environment
- Willingness to travel 80% of the time
- Demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects with multiple stakeholders, manage timelines and deliverables, and ensure alignment with strategic goals
- Experience in managing and executing large-scale change initiatives with a focus on gaining buy-in, providing training, and supporting sustainable adoption at the operational level.
- Ability to assess site-specific challenges, analyze data, prioritize needs, and deploy targeted solutions that drive meaningful impact
- Proven track record of leading and developing others
- Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to learn quickly and effectively transfer knowledge
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while sometimes being exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold)
- Ability to provide valuable and actionable feedback
- Competent in using data management tools, project management software, and communication platforms to track progress and share information

- Must have a valid driver's license
- A clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years
