DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Ballpark Operations team is made up of several departments, including security, event operations, grounds, and office administration, that support the daily operation of Fenway Park and the hundreds of events hosted each year. The common goal across the group is to provide a safe and welcoming environment here at Fenway Park and the highest level of service to all employees, players and coaches, fans, and clients/guests. A diverse group of over 400 part-time and game day staff members include recent high school graduates and several employees with over 50 years of experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Mailroom Assistant will be responsible for receiving, processing and delivering mail and packages from FedEx, USPS and other courier service providers to members of the organization. The Mailroom Assistant will work closely with all departments and gain exposure to different team members in the front office. The Mailroom Assistant is a key member of the Office Services team and will need to be a great team player.
SCHEDULE:
There are two Part-Time Mailroom Assistants that will work a complementary schedule of approximately 25-30 hours/week, with one Mailroom Assistant on site always working with the Manager of Office Services. We are seeking all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday availability with the flexibility to work other days when needed (ample notice will be given).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives incoming mail and packages in compliance with Red Sox-specific screening and inspection procedures
- Scans incoming mail and packages through HI Scan X-Ray Technology System
- Maintains log and other required paperwork for all shipments received related to all incoming packages
- Loads and unloads packages onto or from pallets, carts or hand trucks
- Delivers mail and packages to all areas of Red Sox and FSM offices as appropriate
- Ensures that outgoing mail/packages are in the appropriate pick-up location prior to designated pick-up times
- Safeguards all departmental work areas and mail/package delivery locations by keeping them clear, clean, and well-stocked
- Takes inventory, purchases, and stocks kitchen supplies, including beverages, for all designated kitchen locations within the organization
- Prints ID badges for employees
- Assists with Iron Mountain documentation storage
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- General knowledge of mail room and corporate office operations and courier services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
