OPPORTUNITY
Ribbon Communications is looking for a machine learning intern to assist in the design and development of machine learning solutions on Ribbon Analytics. Ribbon Analytics is a big data network analytics and security product that collects, processes and reacts to massive amounts of data collected from the network, leveraging machine learning and other techniques to analyze trends and outliers in the data and take action to mitigate security threats, fraud, etc in a customer’s network.
The position will be within the Ribbon Analytics development team, working on the latest technologies in the Big Data and Analytics field using contemporary machine learning and data pipeline frameworks to implement scalable analytics solutions to real world problems in the telecommunications space.
A successful candidate must be self-driven, possess a strong work ethic, with a career interest in development of highly scalable machine learning applications. They must be excited about working with new technologies and comfortable working in a dynamic work environment.
What you will be doing: (Responsibilities)
· Selection, prototyping, and evaluation of machine learning capabilities such as unsupervised, online anomaly detection utilizing latest tools and techniques.
· Architect and develop large-scale, distributed data processing/machine learning pipelines using technologies like Hadoop, Impala, Flink, and Airflow.
What we need to see: (Qualifications)
· Currently enrolled in a computer science/data science masters degree program
· Strong programming skills in Python as it relates to machine learning, data science, and big data frameworks.
· Strong understanding of SQL for analytics use cases
· Strong foundation in mathematics, statistical analysis, and probability.
· Extensive experience and knowledge of machine learning frameworks/libraries such as XGBoost, PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc
· Ability to independently decompose larger problems and progressively work a solution to completion
· Ability to quickly pickup new tools and technologies to assist in rapid prototypes
· Ability to employ good judgment in efficiently selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
· Ability to work in the Westford MA office at least two days per
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd (Preferred Skills)
· Experience with unsupervised anomaly detection
· Experience with distributed systems, streaming systems, and data engineering tools, such as SQL, HDFS, S3, Kubernetes, Airflow, Kafka, Flink, etc.
· Experience developing machine learning solutions in Openshift, AWS
· Experience with Deep Learning framework
