Zayo is seeking a Locating Desk Manager to be responsible for the performance of the 811 ticket screening team supporting our Damage Prevention team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; all duties related to ensuring accurate ticket assessment and protection of Zayo's fiber network, including team workload distribution, performance management, career development, and best practice documentation.   

 
Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facets of the Locating Desk team – deliver on time, within quality standards.

  • Act as the escalation point for all 811 screening-related issues.

  • Resolve project roadblocks.

  • Effectively track, report, and communicate the Locating Desk team project process.

  • Provide early communication on potential due date, risks, and/or budget slips to proper leadership.

  • Participate in project meetings and effectively support the overall project effort.

  • Develop best practices for locating desk team.

  • Act as the point of contact for all local 811 agencies, utilities, and other agencies.

  • Act as the point of contact to leaders within Zayo.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 
Qualifications:

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in Damage Prevention (utility locating, 811 dispatch) and telecommunications required

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience leading/managing a team required

  • Call center experience or similar background preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Excellent typing and data entry skills

  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking to prioritize multiple goals.

  • Ability to use office equipment for extended periods

  • Impeccable customer service skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend maps

  • Geographical knowledge of your assigned region

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills as they interface with subordinates, peers, customers, and vendors

Estimated base salary range: $71,800 - $110,400 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.

The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.
