This Intern position will offer law students an opportunity for paid practical experience across a variety of legal and business areas supporting the Bright Horizons Procurement Department.  The intern will work under the supervision of a licensed MA attorney, and will gain valuable hands-on experience applying legal principles and training toward the implementation of public company business objectives. 

This Hybrid role requires in-person work 3 days per week at our Newton, MA headquarters.  This role will be for 15 weeks, 30 hours per week.

What you will be doing: 

  • Review and perform analysis of vendor contracts, requests for proposal, and contract data as part of the expansion of an enterprise-wide Contract Lifecycle Management System. 

  • Assist with drafting and reviewing of contracts and non-disclosure agreements. 

  • Observe vendor client meetings and negotiations. 

  • Draft correspondence related to vendor disputes. 

  • Perform legal research to address issues as they arise in contracting with material vendors (enforceability, best-in-class contract provisions and fallback positions). 

  • Other tasks as needed in the course of working in a dynamic business/legal department of a public growth company. 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • College degree.  Completed 1 (one) or more year(s) of law school (must be enrolled as either a full time or part time JD student ).

Additional Job Requirements 

  • 1+ years of experience with contract databases or similar technology infrastructure, Conga/Salesforce preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain a positive attitude; and solid customer service skills 

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
