SafeRide Health is hiring a strategic and business-minded Legal Counsel to support the company’s continued growth and compliance in the healthcare sector. This attorney will serve as a trusted advisor on healthcare law, regulatory compliance, privacy, and contract management. The ideal candidate has at least three years of legal experience and thrives at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and operational excellence — offering practical guidance that enables SafeRide to deliver on its mission to reduce barriers to care.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to management and internal stakeholders on healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and related matters, including Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare programs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of federal and state healthcare regulations, advising on developments that may impact SafeRide’s operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contracts, including vendor, partnership, and service agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Advise on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring organizational practices comply with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
  • Support litigation management, including coordination with outside counsel, insurers, and claim adjusters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify potential legal risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies to ensure compliance with evolving healthcare and corporate legal standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare law and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with contract drafting, negotiation, and management.
  • Familiarity with privacy laws and compliance requirements (HIPAA or similar).
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within healthcare, health tech, or payer/provider organizations.
  • Exposure to financial or strategic transactions.
  • Strong business acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
