Description

SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5pm, weekends and holidays as needed. This position is non-essential in the event of an emergency and will work a hybrid schedule in accordance with the Pine Street Inn Remote Working Policy.

Pays $90k-$105k annually DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

As a member of the Advancement Department, the Leadership Gifts Officer will work with the development and volunteer leadership team to maximize existing donor relationships, as well as to identify potential new donors, with a focus on mid-level donors $2,500 to $10,000. The Officer will strategize with other development leaders to enhance Pine Street Inn’s existing Annual Giving programs and to effect sustainable growth. The Leadership Giving Officer will solicit and steward unrestricted gifts, and will bring a creative approach to expanding the pool of donors supporting Pine Street Inn’s operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Design and manage a structured, tier-based donor engagement strategy, including a yearlong stewardship calendar and coordinated donor touchpoints
  • Create and maintain leadership-level donor recognition opportunities
  • Serve as the operational lead and owner of the Leadership Giving Program, ensuring consistent execution, documentation, and long-term growth
  • Develop and implement tiered giving strategies at the $2,500, $5,000, and $10,000+ levels, including clear cases for support
  • Coordinate with Major Gift and Volunteer teams to execute engagement opportunities, including events and volunteer activities
  • Develop and implement data-informed strategies to strengthen the leadership by giving pipeline and improve long-term donor value
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on donor segmentation, targeting, and group cultivation strategies across Annual Giving and Major Gifts
  • Oversee comprehensive group stewardship and cultivation strategies for all leadership-level donors ($2,500+)
  • Develop and execute strategies to attract new Giving Circle donors
  • Attract and sustain leadership-level donors within the $2,500 to $10,000 range
  • Upgrade current annual fund donors to higher giving levels and partner with Major Gifts team to transition donor relationship when donor reaches major gift level
  • Monitor donor pipeline activity to identify and elevate prospects approaching leadership giving thresholds
  • Partner with Communications, Major Gifts and Annual Fund teams to ensure consistent, donor-centered messaging across all leadership giving materials
  • Learn and become well versed in Pine Street’s history and mission to find solutions to homelessness. Build strong relationships across the organization; based on mission knowledge develop effective ways for donors to experience Pine Street’s work.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between Annual Giving, Major Gifts, and Operations to ensure seamless donor transitions and shared ownership of the pipeline
  • Lead regular cross-team planning and strategy meetings to align outreach, stewardship, and donor movement
  • Establish and track key performance metrics, including retention, upgrade rates, reactivation, and engagement activity
  • Produce action reports to support donor follow-up and acknowledgments
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED: 

  • Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of fundraising experience 
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising
  • Ability to tailor communications to specific audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • Must possess strong problem solving, organizational and documentation skills. 

PREFERRED: 

  • Annual giving, donor relations and/or volunteer management 
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to produce reports, memoranda, briefings and presentation materials for internal and external use 
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT
