Based in Dublin Ireland 2K games Share Development Studios group, is seeking a Lead Technical Artist for look development to join our team. This role acts as the liaison between the sophisticated work performed by engineers, programmers, and artists who work on a wide variety of features across all of our franchises and games. This role will report directly to the Director of Technical Art.

• Research, build, and develop new technologies and art workflows while maintaining existing processes. This includes environments, props, characters, shaders, lighting, and rigs.
• Collaborate with Art and Engineering to drive research, workflows, and technologies for improved deformations, animation fidelity, and streamlined creation process.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to geometry, character rigs, animation, and simulation.
• Become a proficient user and contributor of the existing toolset and workflow, making any necessary improvements to enhance the capabilities.
• Coach, mentor and help team members grow.

• Minimum of 6-8+ years experience and advanced knowledge as a technical artist.
• Proficient in Maya and Python with significant experience writing tools (Python, PySide/PyQt, C#/C++/Maya API)
• Experience researching, piloting and rolling out new techniques
• Understanding of game engine limitations
• Self-starter with a willingness to learn and grow as a member of the R&D team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Love for video games.
