About NexHealth

Our healthcare system remains frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, instant meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you still have to call to schedule a doctor’s appointment and fill out a clipboard in the waiting room?

NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare by connecting patients, providers, and developers. We’re building the infrastructure layer for modern healthcare, connecting thousands of fragmented, on-premise, and closed EHR systems into a single, modern platform that powers software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the ecosystem.

  • Founded: 2017
  • Headquarters: San Francisco, CA
  • Funding: $177M Series C
  • Employees: 200+
  • Trusted by tens of thousands of providers and hundreds of health-tech developers — forging the infrastructure layer that modern healthcare needs
About the Role

As a Solutions Engineer at NexHealth, you’ll play a critical role in accelerating our mission to modernize healthcare infrastructure. You’ll be at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success — helping developers and enterprise partners design and implement powerful applications on top of NexHealth’s Synchronizer API.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex technical problems, enjoys working directly with customers, and is excited to shape how real-time healthcare data can unlock innovation across the ecosystem. You’ll act as the bridge between our technology and our customers’ goals — ensuring every integration is both technically sound and strategically impactful.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate customer feedback into product improvements, guide developers in building scalable solutions, and ensure our partners extract maximum value from our platform. If you’re passionate about APIs, developer experience, and building the infrastructure for modern healthcare, this is your opportunity to make an outsized impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Be the subject-matter expert on NexHealth’s Synchronizer API — advising prospects and customers on architecture, data modeling, integration patterns, reliability, and performance best practices.
  • Partner with Account Executives during pre-sales cycles to understand customer workflows, uncover technical requirements, design integration strategies, and clearly articulate how our platform solves their challenges.
  • Guide customers through implementation by providing hands-on technical support, reviewing API usage, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring integrations are secure, scalable, and production-ready.
  • Create clear, actionable technical resources such as integration guides, reference architectures, prototype apps, sample code, SDK examples, and demo environments to help developers self-serve and accelerate time to value.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into concise, accessible explanations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences, including engineers, product leaders, and operational stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to surface customer insights, influence product roadmaps, improve API usability, and help refine documentation and developer experience.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor post-launch by monitoring integration performance, helping optimize throughput and reliability, and ensuring long-term success through best practices and proactive guidance.
What You’ll Bring
  • Technical expertise: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. You’ve built, consumed, or debugged APIs and understand modern integration patterns (REST, JSON, OAuth2, webhooks).
  • 7+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or similar technical customer-facing role in a SaaS or API-driven company.
  • Strong problem-solving skills — you’re comfortable diving into logs, testing endpoints, and debugging customer code to identify root causes.
  • Exceptional communication skills — you can confidently present architectural recommendations to executives and pair-program with developers.
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations with complex or regulated data systems; healthcare data (EHR/PMS) familiarity is a strong plus.
  • A builder’s mindset — you’re motivated to create solutions, documentation, and processes that make others more effective.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical depth with business priorities.
  • A collaborative spirit and curiosity to learn — you act as an extension of the customer’s engineering team and advocate for their success within NexHealth.

Benefits

  • Full Medical, Dental, and Vision (up to 100% covered)
  • 401K and commuter benefits
  • Flexible PTO
  • High-impact work that directly improves the healthcare experience for millions

Our Values

  • Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers.
  • Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace.
  • Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses.
  • Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication.
  • Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster.
  • Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities to participate in the application or interview process. Contact [email protected] to request assistance.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
