In this role, you will lead areas within issue management processes in the risk management division. Document business controls, such as risk and control matrices, process and data flows, and supporting documentation. Serve as second line of defense, ensure policies and procedures adherence for the business to support the lines of business through issue remediation, to include an understanding of the risk, action plans and remediation, while providing effective challenge.
Responsibilities- Lead operational risk management analysts through assignments and projects, provide insight and perspective to reduce risk and drive positive impact to organization.
- Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members, providing guidance to drive timely issue resolution and effective risk mitigation across the organization.
- Advocate the businesses interest by collaboration with the 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to identify mutually agreed upon solutions.
- Collaborate with business owners to design effective controls that mitigate risks within their processes and the line of business to ensure timely closure of findings.
- Determine root cause of issues and documents statements and recommend remediation plans to addressed risk across the organization.
- Collaborate with business owners to create remediation plans for identified issues from internal and external reviews or business self-identification.
- Review reporting with stakeholders on the results of risk related monitoring, including issues and events.
- Remain current with business processes, rules and applicable CFPB and NCUA, State of Illinois guidelines applicable to financial services organizations for issues tracking and remediation and monitoring programs.
- Lead complex, solution-based discussions and projects to mitigate risk within the credit union.
- Manage through conflict, find common ground and obtain issue resolution effectively, while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Lead operational risk oversight for new enterprise initiatives to effectively identify and recommend controls for the associated risks.
- High School or Equivalent - Minimum
- Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Preferred
- 7 years - Testing, audit, quality control, risk compliance, control or related - Minimum
Compensation & Benefits:
Typical hiring range: $99,200 - $140,100 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
