The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $144,631.20 - $180,789
The Lead Engineer, Cloud and Generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure to support cutting-edge Generative AI applications. This role requires collaboration with data scientists and AI researchers to deploy and optimize AI models, ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based AI systems. The incumbent will utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management.
The Lead Engineer, Cloud and Generative AI will provide technical leadership, and mentorship will guide team members on cloud and AI-related projects, while problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment. This role is expected to remain up to date with the latest advancements in AWS, Azure, and Generative AI, you will apply this knowledge to continuously improve our systems. Your documentation of best practices, processes, and procedures will ensure smooth cloud and AI operations.
This role will report into the Senior Manager – IT Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, and manages scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.
Collaborates with data scientists and AI researchers to deploy and optimize AI models.
Ensures the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based AI systems.
Utilizes Terraform for infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation.
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
Remains current with advancements in AWS, Azure, and Generative AI.
Troubleshoots and resolves cloud infrastructure and AI model deployment issues.
Documents best practices, processes, and procedures.
Designs, implements, and manages scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure to support Generative AI applications.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large scale complex network solutions.
Three or more years of AI experience.
Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Proficiency in machine learning (ML) and AI models.
Experience in Generative AI, including experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated expertise in vector databases and their application within the GenAI framework.
Desirable knowledge of AI Agents through orchestrators.
Desirable knowledge of frameworks such as Langchain, Semantic Kernel, Spring AI.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of AI experience
Certifications in AWS and Azure technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
