The Lead Design Engineer will actively lead the design and development phase of new rotating machinery, including centrifugal and axial compressors, turboexpanders, reciprocating compressors, and innovative rotating equipment, with a particular focus on the industrialization phase.

Within a multidisciplinary and stimulating environment, the engineer will be responsible for the mechanical design and configuration of compressors and radial expanders, adapting products to meet the evolving needs of the energy transition market and ensuring their final definition.

In addition, the role will play a key part in the functional and technical definition of all digital developments required for the introduction of new products into company systems, ensuring effective integration with existing digital platforms and processes.

The Lead Design Engineer will also support the digital transformation from a document-based philosophy to a data-driven approach, enabling more efficient, traceable, and automated workflows across the product lifecycle.

As a Compressors & Radial Expanders Industrialization and Digital Development Lead Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and executing the design, validation and industrialization phase of new products & solutions.
  • Executing calculations, mechanical analysis, cost analysis and drawings in order to technically define the machine.
  • Developing ideas providing relevant effort in structuring conceptual roadmaps to target the goals.
  • Leading the definition of new design tools and validation of new concepts and products.
  • Generating detailed technical reports and documentation of the design and testing phases.
  • Bringing the design and the maturity of the product/component towards an industrialization phase in order to have a smooth transition into the commercial and production environment.
  • Proactively supporting the company's digital transformation

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an open mindset ready to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Have a Master Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical configuration & drawings of machines and related production/assembly/testing phase.
  • Knowledge of typical structural analyses involved into the design of a machine.
  • Demonstrate good computer skills and be familiar with CAD & FEA techniques.
  • Understand basic mechanical behaviors of materials and basic thermodynamics principles.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in turbomachinery field and digital development are a plus.
  • Have good verbal and written skills, be fluent in English.
