About Posh

We are all social creatures, but the dominant “social” companies today have evolved into digital loneliness machines, driving isolation, anxiety, and mental health challenges around the world.

Human connection is lost. Posh is a beacon guiding us back.

Posh enables anyone to build an IRL community based on shared interests, while connecting consumers with the communities of people just like them. Founded by event organizers who were frustrated with the growing loneliness epidemic and the tools available to build their own event brand, we’ve built the ultimate platform for launching, monetizing, and finding IRL communities of people just like you. In just 5 years, Posh has grown to a team of 65, expanded to 7M+ users, secured $70m in venture funding, and facilitated over $300M in transactions.

About the Role

Posh is expanding into new frontiers, and we’re looking for a Lead Category Launcher to lead the expansion into building out the supply of new event categories (ex: Art & Fashion, Fitness, Food & Drink, Networking, etc).

This role is equal parts strategist, operator, and entrepreneur. You’ll be the “mini-CEO” for our next big category launch, taking a boots-on-the-ground approach to building a community of organizers, understanding their needs, and collaborating internally to evolve Posh into a valuable platform for their unique use cases. You’ll partner across teams to design, execute, and scale new business lines that shape the future of how we connect IRL.

If you thrive in ambiguity, love building from zero to one, and have an analytical mind, you’ll feel right at home here.

This is an in-person role based in our New York City office in the heart of SoHo. Building live experiences and building with soul are important for our customers, and we believe being and working together as a team is the best way for Posh to feel and achieve this. Events on Posh should be fun, alive, and driven with passion and we want to mirror this in our teams every day!

What You’ll Learn & Achieve

Launch & Operations
  • Build the playbook by designing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for acquiring, supporting, and scaling new category organizers.

  • Execute local activations across the country to drive community among new category organizers and drive growth.

  • Partner with marketing to craft offerings and incentives that drive brand awareness and alignment across new categories.

  • Develop repeatable frameworks that mold existing sales, community, and customer success playbooks to the unique needs of new category organizers.

  • Build and maintain P&L ownership for the category, defining and delivering growth and profitability targets.

Partnerships & Business Development
  • Prospect, pitch, and onboard high-value organizers across new categories.

  • Develop frameworks to overcome objections, address product gaps, and highlight Posh’s differentiators.

  • Collaborate with the partnerships team to turn insights into scalable playbooks, battle cards, and training materials: enabling & incentivizing existing AEs to add new category organizers to their own funnels.

Growth & Optimization
  • Collaborate with Data to build dashboards tools to analyze performance, identify trends, test hypotheses, and drive operational decisions utilizing Lightdash, Airtable, SQL, Excel, and/or Python.

  • Track key metrics like GMV, take rate, organizer activation, and retention, continuously optimizing for growth.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Success to champion new category needs and amplify impact.

  • Build and lead a “New Verticals Council” of early adopters and beta testers to shape future product innovations.

About You
  • 5+ years of experience in GTM operations, consulting, and/or banking at growth stage consumer tech marketplace companies.

    • If you have experience as a GTM operator at the following companies (or similar), you’ll be a great fit: DoorDash, WhatNot, Airbnb, Etsy, Ebay, Amazon, Square, Stripe

  • 3+ years of experiencing launching and scaling new business lines, categories, or products.

  • Excellent communicator and negotiator; you are highly capable of building external relationships from 0 and aligning internal teams.

  • Strong project management skills; you thrive juggling multiple priorities and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Sharp analytical chops; you have an uncanny ability to spot trends across large datasets and turn them into strategic and operational decisions.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset; you’re scrappy, creative, and driven by results.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and loves building systems from scratch.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
