The role:
Responsibilities encompass managing / monitoring / overseeing all requirements for fastening processes: Torque to ensure that requirements of Process Control Plans and Tool & Equipment Bulletins are followed and documented.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Support and track execution of User Acceptance Tests for new tooling to ensure proper functioning of error proofing
- Create and maintain a Launch Torque Process Strategy list.
- Track Key Characteristics Designation System (KCDS) code changes and maintain a tracking list for new/relocated tools.
- Follow items on the Torque Master Dot to ensure on-time completion
- Manage spare parts and tracking Point of Use
- Review critical/important quality/throughput issues related to launch
- Support/Troubleshoot launch error proofing issues with Controls.
- Support Quality Tech Support in development of static torque routes.
- Ensure programming in torque controllers matches Application Processor Module (APM) and Process Control Plan (PCP) requirements
- Validate and confirm torque controllers, review ToolsNet results, and initiate Launch Torque First Time Quality (TFTQ) Metrics
- Monitor processes and tooling required by Process Control Plans (PCP's) and Tool and Equipment Bulletins (T&E). Make ongoing improvements and updates to complement PCPs and T&E.
- Develop and provide training to keep production teams and management current with requirements.
- Work with Quality Requirements Lead to maintain updated and new Quality Requirements.
- Oversee/support the management of the torque monitor (static torque measurement process) team to ensure processes are followed and standardized work is well defined and followed.
- Perform / assist correlation studies for static / dynamic torque for fasteners having an issue.
- List, Implementation of AM-1, TAY, TA1 and other strategies that support PCP and T&E and PFMEA and submit data to engineering as required.
- Review torque data daily to identify potential issues or deficiencies.
- Audit fastening processes to the defined requirements. Issue Corrective Action Reports and drive follow-up as required.
- Support technical aspects of torque monitoring. Acquire foundation of equipment knowledge.
- Provide support to VAA (value added assembler) suppliers as required. Support their facility through audits and clear communications and relationships.
- Support weekly EWO (Engineering Work Order) meetings.
- Monitor and follow up on EWOs, TWOs (Temporary Work Orders) and PPCRs (Plant Process Change Requests).
- Assure proper tool calibrations and gages are initiated/performed to meet required maintenance plans (torque equipment, refractometers, etc.)
- Proficient use of databases, information systems, tool monitoring systems with solid interpretation of data.
- Use of great people skills to establish solid working relationships inside and outside the plant (peers, leadership, operators, and resources).
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience, Technical degree preferred
- Problem solving ability
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data
- Ability to motivate employees and elicit work output
- 2+ years relevant experience (i.e., quality control, manufacturing, statistics)
- Ability to work off-shift and over-time as needed
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Launch experience.
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering.
- Proven experience in torque coordination and management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of torque requirements, standards, and validation processes.
- Experience with KCDS codes, ToolsNet, and torque controllers.
- Familiarity with Global Quality Requirements and error proofing systems.
- Proficiency in using torque-related software and tools.
