  • Participate in safety training programs, use tools and equipment safely, and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Provide customer training on system implementation in compliance with company standards, government regulations, and make recommendations for improved machine performance.

ROLE SUMMARY
Journeyman Medium Voltage Electrician must be a skilled craftsmen in their trade, and have a minimum of (2) year technical degree or trade school equivalency and (3) years actual/practical working experience as a journeyman electrician in the industrial/commercial electrical equipment service industry. A State of Michigan Journeyman license is required.
Incumbent will be a member of team responsible for the operation and maintenance of the site's medium voltage (480V - 13,200V) electrical distribution system. The incumbent will regularly operate and maintain substations, breakers, motor controls, high voltage cable and distribution pole lines.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

A Journeyman Medium Voltage Electrician performs preventive maintenance, modified, installs and maintains company medium power distribution systems in compliance with company standards and procedures as well as applicable government regulations. The incumbent can also serve as a subject matter expert advisor in areas of engineering (process design, equipment selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology and project scope development).
Additional duties and responsibilities include: May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Must be able to work on a high performing team with the ability to accept job assignments and work with others to complete those tasks within the team.
Functional/Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of basic discipline. Knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. Communication in developing and implementing solutions is critical.
Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence: Works with minimal supervision.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/general education degree (GED) plus either an Associate degree or relevant trade school equivalency.
  • State of Michigan Electrical Journeyman License.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience as a journeyman electrician in an industrial/commercial environment. Work experience with medium voltage preferred.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best.

Technical Skills Requirements:
  • Excellent computer skills are required (Microsoft systems).
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to read drawings/electrical diagrams a plus.

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):
  • Understanding of Pharma Utility systems and operations.
  • Advanced certifications in relevant technical fields.
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, noisy, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

The salary for this position ranges from $27,41 to $45,69 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company's policies.
