The IT Director, Data Management Organization (DMO) is responsible for the development of data management strategies, policies, standards, and managing master data solutions with related capabilities. This role will transform Sensata’s Master Data Management (MDM) landscape including people, process and technology, and driving change management while taking Sensata’s master data journey forward. The IT Director, DMO will identify MDM solutions and direct enterprise-wide implementation, while partnering with the organization to streamline and improve data ownership. This leader will work with various stakeholders and internal personnel to identify and develop data governance policies, advocate and promote data governance.

General Responsibilities

  • Manages 5-6 direct line Managers and Supervisors to drive an organization of 25+ employees encompassing Data Governance, Data Management, Data Conversion, Data Stewards and Analysts.
  • Manage hiring, developing, scaling and educating team members about MDM best practices. Set goals for the DMO, manage and develop direct line resources and overall organization.
  • Owns cost center and manage organizational budget and drive optimization.
  • Strategize and transform Sensata’s Master Data Management, data unification, and standardization while implementing improved processes and technologies
  • Manage key stakeholders and expectations through various channels including the monthly Master Data Management Council and quarterly Executive MDM Steering Committee
  • Presents in meetings with business leaders to quantify and articulate the business impact of data quality issues and proposed remediations
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of data quality standards and monitoring processes
  • Advises IT, Business, and Engineering teams on data management standards and policies to meet data governance objectives and drive towards central data catalog tool
  • Identify opportunities and processes to ensure data meets the following characteristics, which include but is not limited to; accuracy, validity, reliability, timeliness, relevance, and completeness

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Decision making - Ability to think through possibilities and make sound decisions with appropriate degree of risk; knows when he / she has enough data to make an informed decision
  • Resilience - Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
  • Strategic thinking - Ability to turn strategy into action, to see the big picture and use this ability productively
  • Managing objectives - Ability to decide what needs to be accomplished and design a plan to achieve the desired results
  • Team Management - Ability to delegate, motivate, mentor, develop and manage team to achieve objectives. Manage external resource against SLA and operational metrics
  • Budget Management - Ability to project and present annual operation Expense and Capital budget in departmental budget process

  • Previous experience of MDM solution implementation (Oracle, Informatica etc.) will be preferred

  • Exposure to Oracle ERP and SFDC is required

  • Ability to define companywide Master Data Management Strategy across various domains customers, suppliers, and items

  • Work with Business groups to define master data, attributes, owners and technology

  • Previous experience with transforming master data landscape is preferred

  • Define data quality KPI’s to drive the adoption and help business setup Business Data Glossary

  • Strong knowledge of Business processes like customer creation, order management, procurement, item creation

  • Any additional experience in data lineage, glossary tool, bank information validation tool is appreciated.

Base Salary Range:

$177,800.00 - $244,420.00
