POSITION SUMMARY

The Application Development Manager leads the Application Development team in designing, developing, delivering, and supporting enterprise applications that enable business operations. This role provides leadership and delivery oversight, along with technical guidance on application architecture, solution design, and complex technical challenges as needed.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, develop, and grow the Application Development team to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality enterprise applications aligned with business priorities.
  • Establish and drive software engineering standards, development practices, code quality, and technical governance.
  • Partner with Business Analysts, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions while ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for application architecture, solution approaches, and complex development efforts.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical challenges and critical production issues.
  • Provide leadership and governance for Duck Creek application development, configuration, integrations, and platform enhancements, ensuring alignment with business.
  • Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of application development work,
  • Collaborate with partners to coordinate solution delivery, manage technical dependencies, and drive successful implementation of enterprise initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of software development processes.
  • Ensure applications are designed, developed, and supported in accordance with enterprise architecture, security standards, compliance requirements, and technology governance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in application development, software engineering, or enterprise application delivery.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing software development teams in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications using modern software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to provide architectural guidance and evaluate technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee performance, developing technical talent, and building high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and successfully deliver technology initiatives.
