Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking an Investor Relations Operations Associate to join our Investor Relations team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing operational workflows where accuracy and follow-through matter. They should communicate clearly, work confidently with data and documentation, and collaborate effectively with investors, internal teams, and external counterparties.

1–4 years of relevant professional experience in financial services, operations, accounting, reporting, or a similarly detail-intensive environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day Investor Relations operations, with a focus on investor transactions, reporting, and data accuracy.
  • Act as an operational point of contact for investor-related requests, ensuring items are tracked, reviewed, and completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate investor transactions such as subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers in accordance with fund terms and internal policies.
  • Work directly with the fund administrator and other external partners to exchange information, troubleshoot issues, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update investor reporting materials and related data to ensure accuracy before distribution.
  • Handle ad hoc investor and due diligence requests, often pulling together and reconciling information from multiple systems or data sources.
  • Manage internal systems used for investor information, documentation, and workflow tracking.
  • Assist with investor meeting coordination, documentation, and follow-up materials.
  • Contribute to process improvements aimed at increasing accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $100,000 - $135,000 depending on experience. Actual offer will reflect your specific skills, years of relevant experience, and fit for the role. It is unlikely that all new hires will start at the top of this range.

About the Company:

For over 30 years, Weiss Asset Management has developed proprietary value-based investment strategies designed to deliver high risk-adjusted returns to our investors, who include charitable foundations, pension plans, endowments, hospitals, government entities and private investors. We manage approximately $4 billion across hedge funds and institutional accounts. We work collaboratively to solve problems, and to identify undervalued assets through deep fundamental research, statistical analysis and an analytically rigorous approach to decision making. Above all else, we value integrity, uncompromising rationality, creativity and entrepreneurship, and continuous learning and improvement.

Our team of over 120 individuals is the engine of our success, and we welcome truly exceptional candidates from all backgrounds.

WAM is a fit for you if:

  • You enjoy a collaborative environment, where decisions are made in diverse teams. At WAM, all employees can expect to work directly with members of other departments representing a range of backgrounds.
  • You work well in a flat structure and are comfortable voicing dissenting opinion. Talent and work ethic will dictate what you can achieve at WAM, as evidenced by the fact that the majority of our managing directors began their careers here as interns.
  • You are driven to constantly learn, improve, and make rational decisions based in fact and data, and you welcome receiving feedback as well as sharing knowledge with others.
  • You prioritize acting ethically in all situations.

WAM is an equal opportunity employer. Women, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
