Job Description

Background

Bose is a multinational technology company headquartered in Framingham, MA.  Throughout the year, the Tax Department manages the global tax provision, global tax compliance, and global transfer pricing, and provides tax advisory and planning services to the Company’s senior leadership on a global basis.  The Department is transforming its tax processes and expanding its capabilities by leveraging data and technology-driven advancements.

Job Description

The Bose Tax Department is looking for someone to manage the process of preparing and reviewing various international tax analyses for provision, compliance, transfer pricing, and controversy purposes, with an international tax senior as a direct report.  Moreover, this person would be primarily responsible for leading the development and advancement of tax processes.  This would involve the identification and implementation of improved and streamlined processes and expanded tax capabilities.  This person would work directly with members of the Tax Department as well as other members of the Finance team, auditors, and colleagues in operational functions.

Main Responsibilities

Financial Reporting, Compliance, and Transfer Pricing

  • Oversee the US international tax analyses and related compliance for items such as Subpart F, GILTI, FDII and BEAT, and treaty application
  • Manage the non-US and international elements of the global tax provision
  • Support and assist Global Finance partners in local tax compliance obligations and manage relationships with external tax advisors
  • Assist in transfer pricing adjustments and analyses

Tax Technology

  • Lead initiatives to automate and simplify data collection, tax reporting, and process workflows, to include activities such as compliance and provision, forecasting, direct and indirect tax process automation and scenario planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify tax technology needs and improve tax processes.
  • Identify redundancies and inefficiencies in tax processes and propose and implement improvements.
  • Expand the capabilities of the Tax Department by leveraging emerging tools (e.g. AI, machine learning, etc.)
  • Provide/coordinate internal training and cross-functional knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill the team.

Skills and Experience

  • Needs to have at least 10 years of experience with ASC 740 (US GAAP tax accounting) and international tax
  • Strong background in implementing tax technological processes
  • Strong managerial and teaming skills
  • Needs to have strong quantitative skills and advanced experience with tax accounting analyses
  • Should have extensive experience with multinational companies
  • Should be proficient in research and writing tax memoranda
  • Needs to have strong communicative skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (including Microsoft Teams), SAP and other systems
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Strong skills as an administrator in OneSource tax platforms are required

The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts is: $152,000-$209,000.The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
