Hi, we’re CompanyCam.

We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.

But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!

The Role

We’re looking for a sharp, self-motivated, problem-solving Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll work with a small team of Infrastructure Engineers to build solutions in AWS that help keep CompanyCam’s web and mobile applications humming. You’ll get a chance to collaborate with product engineers to help deploy the next great idea and improve our existing infrastructure to make it more reliable, resilient and secure.

Infrastructure Engineers at CompanyCam not only help guide solutions and implementation strategies, they are a resource for sharing knowledge about the cloud environment.

What We Ask Of You

Must-haves
These are our non-negotiables:

  • Show up: give us your best and have the bravery to do difficult but necessary stuff.
  • Grow up: take responsibility, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
  • Do good: treat your co-workers and our customers the way you want to be treated.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, including its networking, relational database management and cloud storage services.
  • Experience deploying containerized applications and working with Github Actions and Terraform.
  • Capable of scripting in bash, ruby and/or python.
  • Able to break down a complex task and document its solution
  • Understands how to analyze an existing system to identify improvements
  • Be technically savvy and hungry to learn.
  • Reside permanently and currently somewhere in the U.S. Alas, we're not set up to hire outside of the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

Day to day, you’ll spend most of your time designing, improving and deploying infrastructure services to AWS. You’ll be able to have even more impact if you have expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
  • AWS Fargate, OpenSearch or PostgreSQL
  • Designing systems for security and high availability
  • Generative AI tools for enhancing infrastructure systems
  • Producing and presenting educational content of technical concepts

Working At CompanyCam

Our engineering team is remote-first, spanning every timezone across the U.S. We welcome all backgrounds and value capability over credentials; whether you have a CS degree, a high school diploma, or no diploma at all, if you’re skilled and collaborative, you’re welcome here.

We partner with product teams who work in synchronized multi-week cycles with dedicated planning phases. Our team actively collaborates with these product teams while ensuring smooth operation and continuous improvement of our production systems. We share weekly updates to track goals and maintain alignment, while giving you the flexibility to manage your work in the way that works best for you.

Meetings are purposeful and few. We champion a healthy work environment where you can focus on quality work during your 8-hour day and then log off. Nights and weekends are for you, not for work.

Benefits & Compensation

This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary range is $125,000 - $145,000 per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.

We pride ourselves on celebrating everyone. CompanyCam is an equal-opportunity employer actively working on creating an inclusive work environment where everyone can thrive. Are you reading this and wondering if you meet every requirement? Studies show that workplace minorities, such as women and people of color, are less likely than other applicants to apply for a job when they don’t meet every single requirement. Even if your experience doesn’t perfectly align, we encourage you to apply. We’re interested in hiring passionate, hard-working people—not checking boxes.

For any accommodations or adjustments to complete the online application or to participate in the interview process, please email [email protected] and we’ll respond to your email promptly. Do not include any medical or health information in your email.
