We are seeking a high-impact Senior IT Specialist to serve as the primary operator of our global office infrastructure and systems. As we scale and transition away from an outsourced support model, you will take full ownership of our infrastructure, security, and internal systems. This is a foundational role for a technical expert who thrives on building scalable systems from the ground up and ensuring our team has the tools they need to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a scalable, enterprise-level IT infrastructure across all current and future office locations and entities.
- Oversee the current outsourced IT vendor relationship, serving as the primary point of contact and leading the phased transition to an internal support model.
- Develop and enforce an enterprise-wide cybersecurity framework, including network security, data protection, and threat mitigation.
- Manage and optimize our suite of SaaS products and managed applications, ensuring proper licensing, integration, and security.
- Standardize and manage device configurations (macOS and Windows) through MDM solutions to ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding.
- Provide hands-on, day-to-day IT support for the Boston office and remote employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Manage physical security systems, including office access control, surveillance hardware, and onsite server/networking equipment.
- Act as the primary liaison for IT-related vendors, including ISPs, hardware suppliers, and physical security providers.
- Actively participate in the company’s SOC 2 and ISO compliance initiatives, ensuring IT policies and procedures meet audit requirements.
- Create and maintain internal IT documentation, including disaster recovery plans, acceptable use policies, and security protocols.
- Manage the IT budget, hardware procurement cycles, and software subscription renewals.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in IT management or systems administration, preferably within a high-growth technology or SaaS-based company.
- Proven track record of building or scaling IT infrastructure from the ground up.
- Experience managing or transitioning away from an Managed Service Provider (MSP) model.
- Strong proficiency in Mobile Device Management (e.g., Jamf, Kandji, Intune) and Identity Providers (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace).
- Deep understanding of modern office networking, including firewalls, Wi-Fi 6, and VPN management.
- Familiarity with modern physical access control systems (e.g., Openpath, Kisi) and surveillance tech.
- Direct experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar regulatory audits.
