Geode’s equity index team manages over $1.5 trillion of global equity assets benchmarked to US, developed markets, emerging markets and thematic indices. The vehicles managed include ETF’s, separately managed accounts, and sub-advised mutual funds for both domestic and international investors. The Index Analyst will become an integral member of a team responsible for managing passive strategies.
This role is based out of our office in Boston, Massachusetts and is required to follow the firm’s current hybrid work schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in-office, with the option to work Monday and Friday remote from home.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily analysis of index change events that impact the performance of all domestic and international index funds
- Become the subject matter expert on index methodologies of multiple index providers
- Develop strong working relationships with global index providers and give feedback during index methodology consultations
- Partner with internal technology teams to streamline the processing of vendor data
- Analyze corporate actions and the impact on relevant indices including the contribution to fund performance attribution
- Support ad-hoc index analysis for internal and external presentations
- Ensure that vendor index changes are consistent with the stated methodology and establish deliverables adhere to their stated timelines
- Evaluate voluntary corporate actions, provide election recommendations, discuss with the Portfolio Managers, and submit elections on behalf of all funds
- Evaluate upcoming equity offerings and IPOs and assess possible index impact
- Track and validate upcoming index rebalance dates and related proforma index files
- Provide feedback of global best practices for self- indexing custom benchmarks
Skills You Bring:
- Must possess 3+ years of experience in a similar position and an in-depth knowledge of index portfolio management
- BA Degree (Masters preferred) in Finance or Business or Related Field
- CFA or progress towards completion of CFA preferred
- High level of understanding of investment impact of corporate actions and index change events as well as trading strategies
- Comfortable working with large data sets
- Experience with SQL, Bloomberg, and index provider data files
- Solid working knowledge of Excel, macros, database queries, and database reports
- Comprehensive analytical and organizational skills are essential
- A self-motivated team player capable of working well with colleagues across the business. Confidence taking responsibility for all kinds of tasks, processes and projects
