Jackson Lewis P.C. is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to join our Boston office. This individual will work closely with attorneys to support a variety of employment-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant visa petitions (e.g., H-1B, E-3, TN, L-1A/B, O-1, E-1/E-2), immigrant visa petitions (I-140), PERM labor certifications, and Adjustment of Status applications. The role requires exceptional case management skills, strong communication, and the ability to work effectively with clients across industries such as technology, life sciences, healthcare, and engineering.
Essential Functions
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of immigration petitions with various government agencies.
- Draft supporting letters and documentation for all types of visas and petitions.
- Organize, review and analyze evidence. Coordinate document production process. Assemble exhibits for complex filings.
- Assist with client and case management by responding to routine inquiries regarding case status, next steps, processing times, consular matters etc. Promptly escalate issues to attorneys to ensure effective client service and case progression.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies including USCIS, CBP, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Labor
- Monitor case progress, workload, and deadlines, ensuring timely filings, proactive case management, and effective prioritization across assigned matters.
- Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Department of Labor audits as needed.
- Maintain case management systems with a strong emphasis on data integrity, accurate reporting, and up-to-date client and matter tracking.
- Manage and maintain billable time entries in accordance with firm policies.
- Demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to client satisfaction in all interactions, ensuring a high standard of service and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Ability to manage client relationships for high-volume clients and complex projects under short deadlines
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency with case management and legal technology platforms
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities
- Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional writing skills
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Paralegal Certificate a plus
This is a hybrid position, working 3 days in office and 2 remote.
The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
