Position Summary: 

The HR Generalist is primarily responsible for supporting daily HR operations across all primary functional areas, including payroll processing, talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, this position will serve as tactical partner to employees and frontline manager. This position is also responsible for maintaining a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employment laws.

Essential Functions: 

  • Own and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing, reconciliation, reporting, adjustments, and year-end requirements.
  • Provide support to employees and managers seeking guidance on benefits, HR policies, procedures and workplace concerns.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws including, but not limited to, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII).

Job Duties: 

  • Own and manage the end-to-end payroll process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HRIS data, timekeeping, and payroll information.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll related employee inquiries, investigating and resolving issues promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain HR and payroll reports, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR and payroll processes, systems, and employee experience.
  • Maintain personnel records, I-9 compliance, and HRIS data integrity. 
  • Support internal and external compliance audits and mandatory reporting.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and wellness initiatives by processing enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and COBRA notifications.
  • Participate in annual open enrollment efforts including vendor coordination, and employee information sessions.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of monthly benefit invoices and reconcile discrepancies with providers.
  • Provide performance management, onboarding, and employee lifecycle support procedures and initiatives.
  • All other duties assigned.
  • Execute daily deliverables and assignments efficiently and with high quality, ensuring all work meets the standards necessary to achieve organizational objectives and key results.
  • Maintain a work area which ensures the safety and confidentiality of all customer records and transactions. 
  • Actively support and contribute to Navigate360s high trust culture by engaging in constructive communication and collaborative problem solving.
  • Support broader HR initiatives and projects as required.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador in team and companywide activities.
  • Confidently embody Navigate 360’s Mission and Values. 
  •  Represent Navigate 360 in the community and at community events.   
Qualifications

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): 

  • 2 or more years of HR experience, including but not limited to, experience across payroll, employee relations, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • 2 or more years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, with demonstrated ownership of payroll from preparation through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, statutory deductions, employment standards, taxable benefits, vacation pay, and payroll compliance.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, including addressing workplace concerns, interpreting policies, etc.
  • Experience with full-cycle talent acquisition, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, selection, reference checks, and offer coordination.
  • Strong experience managing employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring accurate documentation and positive employee experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills, particularly when handling confidential employee and payroll information.
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust with employees and managers and serve as a reliable HR resource.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability, with a proactive approach to identifying issues, improving processes, and following work through to completion.

Normal Working Hours and Conditions:  Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  However, this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time while operating a computer and other office equipment. Constant operation of a computer and/or other office productivity machinery. This position requires the ability to receive, understand and communicate detailed information through oral and written communication. The employee must be able to utilize close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer monitor and extensive reading. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
