The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy seeks to improve quality of life through the effective use, taxation, and stewardship of land. Team Overview:  

The HR team at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy supports the full employee life cycle of a mission-driven nonprofit enabling a globally recognized nonprofit to advance research, education, and policy solutions that foster thriving communities and responsible land stewardship. The team balances individual ownership of functional areas with close collaboration, a high degree of trust and confidentiality, and an innovative approach. 

Position Overview:  

The HR department seeks a highly adaptive, client-focused HR Coordinator to join the team. This role will have exposure to all major HR areas: onboarding, recruiting, benefits, compensation, learning, performance, compliance, and HR systems. As a member of the HR team, you will work both collaboratively and independently to manage the full employee life cycle. This role requires strong attention to detail and follow-through to ensure a great employee experience. 

This is a full-time position in Cambridge, Massachusetts at 37.5 hours per week, reporting to Ellen Stepansky, Director of HR and Organizational Development. The role is expected in the office for a minimum of two days per week. 


What You Will Do  

  • Support the recruiting lifecycle. 

  • Maintain and enhance processes and systems to ensure high data integrity. 

  • Process invoices. 

  • Assist with onboarding. 

  • Coordinate HR events. 

  • Support training and performance. 

  • Monitor and triage the HR inbox, escalating complex matters. 

  • Maintain internal documentation and employee-facing resources. 

  • Administer HIPAA training. 

  • Generate reports and assist with other duties, as needed. 

  • Maintain personnel files, as needed. 

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned. 

  • Continue professional development. 

Qualifications

What You Will Need 

  • 1-3 years of professional experience, recruiting experience preferred. 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 

  • Extremely high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. 

  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion. 

  • Ability to work independently and with a team. 

  • Customer service orientation and excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to juggle and prioritize competing deadlines. 

  • Comfortable with digital tools (Paycom, applicant tracking systems, Asana). 

  • Orientation to diversity, equity, inclusion, and continuous learning. 

  • U.S. Citizen, or legally authorized to work in the U.S. with no need for future sponsorship.

Compensation Overview

The salary market range for this role is posted above and dependent on level of education and years of experience. We value internal and external equity and encourage those who may be missing qualifications to submit their materials still.
