The HRIS Analyst plays a key role in supporting the administration of Workday HCM for a large retail organization. This role focuses on maintaining data accuracy, managing routine system tasks, and providing user support in a tier 2 capacity to ensure Workday operates smoothly and efficiently across the company. The analyst collaborates with HR, Payroll, IT, and field teams to resolve issues and deliver high-quality service. The HRIS analyst will test ongoing change requests to promote operational efficiencies and assist with project work as assigned.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
User Support & Training
- Serve as Tier 2 support for Workday inquiries from employees, field leaders, and internal departments.
- Partner with HR (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Learning), Payroll, IT, and field teams to resolve issues via ServiceNow.
- Research and troubleshoot issues and own the timeliness of resolutions, document solutions and provide end-users with direction on resolving day-to-day issues, and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of ticket trends to reduce the number logged.
- Maintain and update knowledge-based articles (job aids, policies) and share resources with end-users.
- Document ongoing team processes and cross train as needed
Workday System Administration
- Manage foundational Workday data, including positions, locations, establishments, and supervisory organizations.
- Monitor Workday administrator inbox and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Support the HCM workstream with ongoing review of help text, configuration, and basic business process maintenance.
- Conducts user testing of Workday change requests including executing test plans, communicating testing timelines, coordinating tasks among departments, gathering appropriate evidence, creating documentation prior to implementation, and ensuring a successful rollout.
Data Management: Accuracy & Governance
- Perform routine audits and correct data inconsistencies.
- Audit security assignments and assign approved security roles as needed.
- Process mass data updates using EIBs (e.g., new club setup). Import or data enter mass changes for various business initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HR data standards and security requirements.
Reporting
- Deliver accurate scheduled reports to support business needs.
- Will assist with the development and distribution of custom reports.
Additional Duties
- Support special projects, stretch assignments, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years HRIS, analysis, or troubleshooting experience; retail experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and professional interactions.
- Proven ability to research and resolve issues, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Customer-service mindset when supporting employees and internal teams.
- Solid understanding of Human Resources processes and proficiency with Workday HCM functionality.
- Experience with reporting tools and ability to create and maintain custom reports in Workday.
- High attention to detail to ensure quality in all tasks and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other data management tools.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and maintain compliance with data security standards.
This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $67,000.00 - $85,500.00Top Skills
