Vice President of People Operations

About the Position
As we rapidly scale, we're building HR infrastructure and administration to keep pace with high growth needs of our business for hiring, employee performance, and benefits. This role will drive growth and play a key role in ensuring that we're sustaining our vibrant inclusive culture, mission-driven values, and professional career development.
Own all full-cycle recruiting responsibilities from working with hiring managers to carefully define roles through managing the hiring process from kick-off to close
Provide guidance and coaching to managers and leadership on retention, compensation, employee relations, and HR policies
Partner with senior leadership to proactively identify strategic staffing needs across all departments, and define ambitious recruiting plans
Build and continually improve onboarding and orientation strategies
Take the lead on employer branding, pulling in marketing support as needed
Partner with our finance team to revise and administer a competitive benefits program
Provide employee relations mentoring and support for employees at all levels
Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws
Define, craft, and execute training programs, collaborating closely with department heads, with a particular focus on supporting professional development
Sustain our culture of empowerment and trust as we scale, celebrating milestones, and supporting our leadership team’s ability to champion values in their day-to-day management strategies
Manage our ATS and HRIS and all workflows; including but not limited to Performance Management, Orientation, PTO & Benefits, Staffing Metrics
Provide guidance regarding office management, space planning, facilities, and general administration
Use data and strong research skills to make informed recommendations on company policies, metrics to track, and ways to continually improve our employer brand
Contribute to our annual performance management program and mid-year reviews
Desired Skills & Experiences
10+ years of experience in human resources management, tech industry experience preferred
Experience with high-volume recruiting in a high-growth scale-up
Strong process orientation; proven track record of continuous process improvement in recruiting, performance management, and employee relations functions
Experience designing and managing a talent acquisition plan, working closely with hiring managers to determine target user profiles, and deciding on strategies to source exceptional candidates
Benefits, payroll, and 401(k) administration experience
Ability to serve as a confidential coach
Maturity and efficiency in handling employee relations issues
Experience designing training programs is a plus
A well-honed ability to solve problems and practical experience building trust and relationships, consistently demonstrating integrity and credibility
Experience developing and monitoring HR policies, compliance, and risk, as well as effectively disseminating information for company-wide adoption
Familiarity with and a passion for the implementation of people metrics and their ongoing maintenance
