Role:
The Talent Acquisition Director role has primary responsibility for setting the recruiting strategy for the assigned business function/s and for managing the day-to-day operations beyond filling roles by identifying the business needs, building a bottom up hiring needs plan, strengthening the recruiting model, ensuring we have robust diversity and employer brand programs, designing and delivering an exceptional hiring manager and candidate experience.
- Partnering with functional business leaders, hiring managers, HRBPs and other key stakeholders to analyze business goals, identify talent needs and/or gaps associated with those goals, and develop and implement programs to find the right talent
- Demonstrate extensive labor market expertise for the markets relevant to the designated customer group/s
- Providing value-add recruiting advice and demonstrating understanding of talent needs to hiring managers and key senior leaders/decision makers
- Providing input into the functional recruitment strategy including early career, sourcing, pipelining and executive to ensure alignment with business and HR goals
- Assisting in the design and implementation of external candidate recruiting programs that attract, select and retain a qualified, diverse workforce and support MassMutual’s workplace diversity goals
- Partner with employment branding & recruitment marketing on function specific campaigns, social & digital engagement and opportunities to showcase our value proposition
- Support and champion diversity initiatives and programs including outreach events and training
- Plan programs and resources based on hiring volume and strategic priorities including continuous bottoms up planning quarterly of hiring needs
- Formulate annual & quarterly talent acquisition response plan/s based on identified priorities and gaps
- Partner with Talent Management on internal mobility, succession and development opportunities for identified talent
- Guide and manage recruiters aligned with functional area
- Provide analytics and reporting on hiring across their function and collect market talent intelligence and trends to inform strategic priorities and decision making
- Implement TA process improvements, training, lead change management and build a culture of recruiting across the function including assessments, interview preparation, onboarding, candidate experience and improving diversity and quality of hires
- Develop strong relationships and effectively persuade and influence executives on talent needs and strategies
- Participate in Talent Acquisition initiatives and manage special projects
Experience:
This role requires a continuous improvement mindset, influencing skills, project management skills, excellent communication and analytical thinking, ability to operate independently and manage shifting priorities, building strong relationships, keeping a keen eye on market and external influencing factors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required; MBA preferred
- 7+ years of professional experience in Talent Acquisition required
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience required
- Demonstrable experience managing a talent acquisition function
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced collaboration mindset, and a history of successfully influencing partners whilst maintaining respectful and trusted relationships
- Significant in-depth understanding of business objectives and how they translate into Talent Acquisition priorities
- Advanced project management skills, experience with Agile methodology will be a plus
- In-depth knowledge of Talent Acquisition processes and standard programs
- Ability to educate, coach and mentor team members, including business leaders and managers, to enhance their effectiveness in the recruitment and selection of the right talent
- Excellent executive presentation skills with the ability to clearly present actionable information from available data
- Ability to lead a team and work autonomously, leading time sensitive projects in a fast-paced environment
