Landmark Ventures is seeking a people-oriented, growth-minded HR Manager to play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and high-performing employee experience across the organization. This role manages all core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and compliance, while also supporting special projects, culture initiatives, and organizational growth. The HR Manager partners closely with senior leadership, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to build thoughtful people processes that strengthen retention, professional development, and organizational effectiveness.
Role and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Hiring (40%)
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for all roles across the organization, ensuring an equitable, consistent, and high-quality process.
- Partner with hiring managers to create job descriptions, develop interview processes, and align on hiring needs and expectations.
- Coordinate with external recruiters, schedule interviews, gather feedback, and oversee candidate experience from application through offer.
- Post roles across appropriate job boards and manage applicant screening in the ATS.
- Manage hiring process for offshore contractors across international time zones, ensuring alignment across HR, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
- Support hiring managers in assessing team needs, strengths, and working styles to ensure thoughtful team composition and people alignment.
- Maintain candidate records, interview notes, and hiring metrics in the ATS.
- Identify opportunities to improve hiring strategy, forecasting, and processes.
HR Compliance, Policy & Strategy (15%)
- Refine and implement HR policies and systems that align with the organization's goals and strategic objectives.
- Lead the annual Organizational Health Survey, analyze results, and present findings to leadership.
- Advise leadership on HR best practices, compliance, and workforce planning.
- Act as a trusted, confidential sounding board and resource for employees seeking support, clarity, or guidance related to workplace concerns, policies, or interpersonal dynamics.
- Oversee and optimize HR platforms, including Lattice, BambooHR, and Slack workspace management.
Performance Management (15%)
- Lead performance management processes and review cycles, including communications, guidance for managers, and tracking promotion adjustments.
- Maintain and update career progression frameworks to ensure clarity around growth opportunities across the organization.
- Design structures and processes that support strong, consistent performance across teams; strengthen the HR function as a growth driver of the company.
- Coach managers on performance expectations, feedback delivery, and development planning.
- Serve as a neutral or supportive resource to address performance concerns, communication gaps, or interpersonal/team conflicts.
Training & Development (10%)
- Plan and deliver professional development and training across the organization.
- Develop and manage manager training initiatives and long-term professional development programs.
- Partner with leadership to build internal mentorship programs and PD resources.
Onboarding (10%)
- Oversee all onboarding activities to ensure a seamless and welcoming employee experience.
- Manage new hire paperwork, compliance documents, transition from recruitment to onboarding, and internal HR to-dos.
- Coordinate logistics with hiring managers, new hires, IT, and administrative staff through the first 90 days.
- Facilitate introductions, welcome messages, and visibility across the organization.
- Coordinate with hiring managers on workload, expectations, deliverables, and retention strategy for all hired talent.
- Gather feedback from new employees and managers to support ongoing process improvement.
- Build early relationships with new hires to understand their needs, provide support, and reinforce a culture of openness and trust.
People & Culture Initiatives (10%)
- Drive culture-building efforts aligned with organizational values and priorities.
- Support and advise the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) Council and employee resource groups, and help integrate DEI principles into daily practices, communications, and employee experience.
- Maintain a culture of appreciation through newsletters, meetings, shoutouts, and recognition-driven programming.
- Partner with leadership to identify new retention strategies (e.g., recognition initiatives, learning opportunities, long-term career pathways).
- Hold regular HR check-ins and “stay” interviews with employees to proactively identify issues, surface concerns, and support engagement and wellbeing.
- Maintain a productive and supportive offshore team by building communication structures, offering check-ins, and strengthening team cohesion.
- Support strategic employee engagement goals across hybrid teams.
- Conduct research and provide project support for special initiatives and organizational growth efforts led by the COO and CEO.
The ideal candidate has:
- 4-6 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or related fields, including 2+ years in a manager-level role.
- Preferably a mix of in-house experiences between large corporate and also smaller/mid-size entrepreneurial environments, high-growth and fast-paced cultures, and roles in which you advised LOB leaders and senior executives on bolstering the HR and talent functions to support new growth of the company (i.e., enhanced the levers around talent, PD, hiring, etc., during a growth spurt and strategic inflection point of a company, etc.).
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, compliance, talent acquisition, and employee engagement.
- Experience with HRIS/ATS platforms; Lattice and BambooHR or similar experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, execute under tight deadlines, work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, monitor and manage multiple priorities, and meet timelines on large projects from inception through completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills – have an ability to interface directly with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and pick up on nuances of team dynamics and interactions.
- Strong self-management skills and comfort in a dynamic work environment – display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing work in a timely manner and demonstrating responsible behavior.
- Strong project management skills – highly organized, demonstrate attention to detail and strategic problem-solving, and have a proactive attitude and sense of urgency.
- Collaboration and teamwork – comfortable working via email, phone, Zoom, and in-person with colleagues and clients to collaborate effectively with others.
- Curiosity and resourcefulness – comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment and can work calmly, independently, and effectively under deadlines.
